After about two and a half weeks of enduring of a terrible cough I caught at work, I was driven to try pretty much anything to get rid of it. So I tried a detox bath. I’m a fan of baths in general, so it seemed like a good idea anyways.
I googled a wide variety of detox baths and settled on a combination of Epsom salts, dead sea salts, baking soda, a few glugs of hydrogen peroxide, and a healthy tablespoon of ground ginger. The Epsom salts are supposed to pull out toxins, the baking soda softens your skin, the dead sea salts happened to be in my cupboard, and the ground ginger increases circulation.
While the Epsom salts bit might sound like a bit of hooey, the ginger thingdefinitely works. Even after the bath water starts to cool you still feel all warm and fuzzy. And it makes you sweat, which I suppose is good, if you’re sick and desperate like I am. And it smells good.
After my bath I went and took a nap. And had some really, really weird dreams. About giving a giant cartoon centipede made of eyeballs a colonoscopy with antifreeze. But that’s beside the point. It was a good bath.
