Über Anti-Acne Soap

After years of DIYing, I’ve got a pretty good cache of acne-fighting ingredients. From clays to herbs to essential oils, my basement cupboards are a veritable arsenal of zit-busting weaponry, and these bars of soap have it all. They’re designed to clobber zits and stop acne before it starts. They’re also pretty groovy looking.

Winterlight Argan Serum

This milky facial oil is pretty much the opposite of my Argan bronzer. While the bronzer is designed to impart a summery glow, this serum lightens and brightens the complexion, smoothing out imperfections and giving you that Downton Abbey complexion I’m so in love with these days.

Orange & Tea Tree Foot Soak

I was in yoga class the other day, looking at my bare feet while hanging out in butterfly pose, and I was bit appalled by what I saw. Dry, flaky scaly bits were peeling away from my heels and the balls of my feet, and it was pretty gross, so I decided to do something about it before my yoga mat complained.

Coconut & Pineapple Face Mask

If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, you will definitely love this face mask. It’s gentle, smells like a piña colada, and leaves your skin refreshed, gently exfoliated, and wondering if it’s in Tahiti.

Healing Bee Propolis Cream

Bee propolis is a really amazing substance. In its raw form it looks like clods of dirt, and smells something like the air just before it rains. Made from essential oils, resins, saps, and the odd bit of dry grass, it is a powerful antibacterial and antiseptic healing ingredient, making it perfect for a starring role in this lotion. As with everything bees make, each hive produces different propolis. It’s assembled from the trees and flowers that the bees visit on their pollen and nectar rounds, and its composition understandably varies by what’s available near the hive.

Crickets & Fireflies Perfume

Happy New Year! I’ve decided to kick 2015 off with this complex and intoxicating perfume that I’m rather infatuated with.

It’s dry and warm, with a tangy mid note and high notes of sweet citrus and bright coniferous trees. It also matures beautifully on the skin—somehow the notes both clarify and blend over time, which is sheer perfumery magic to me.
