Fruitcake Soap

It’s time for our last Christmas soap of the season! This one is inspired by the eternal fruitcake—that lump of sherry soaked brick-like substance that appears on Christmas potluck dessert tables every year (it may be the exact same lump, if we’re being honest). I know few people that admit to liking fruitcake, and even fewer that actually make the stuff. (I expect to hear from everybody who likes and/or makes fruitcake in the comments section to prove me wrong).

Winter Solstice Soap

Here in Calgary, December 21 is a short, dark day. The sun rises at 8:37AM and sets at 4:32PM, giving us a whopping seven hours, fifty-four minutes, and seventeen seconds with which to go about our daylight requiring business. That’s less than half the daylight we have on the summer solstice in June. We’ve got nothing on the far north, but even somewhere comparatively close (latitude-wise, at least) like Toronto gets noticeably more daylight than we do on the darkest day of the year.

Holiday Infuser Blends

I adore the smells of the holidays—Christmas trees, holiday baking, cocoa, and woodsmoke. I formulated these scent blends around my favourite winter memories, from picking out a Christmas tree to spending the entire weekend in the kitchen making pies and cookies. I’m loving them in my Saje Aroma Cloud ultrasonic diffuser these days.

Blizzard Soap

This crisp, clean white bar smells of cold air and cool mint, and is just perfect for winter. It’s my first Christmas soap for 2014, and I’m not quite sure how it’s Christmas soaping season already.

Whipped Shea Butter Body Meringue

I am so thrilled with this new invention of mine. It’s unbelievably light and fluffy, with a decadent texture that will make your friends gasp in awe when they feel how light and soft it is. I call it body meringue because of its texture and how it forms wonderful soft, glossy peaks, just like a meringue does.
