After about two and a half weeks of enduring of a terrible cough I caught at work, I was driven to try pretty much anything to get rid of it. So I tried a detox bath. I’m a fan of baths in general, so it seemed like a good idea anyways.

I googled a wide variety of detox baths and settled on a combination of Epsom salts, dead sea salts, baking soda (USA / Canada), a few glugs of hydrogen peroxide, and a healthy tablespoon of ground ginger. The Epsom salts are supposed to pull out toxins, the baking soda (USA / Canada) softens your skin, the dead sea salts happened to be in my cupboard, and the ground ginger increases circulation.

While the Epsom salts bit might sound like a bit of hooey, the ginger thingdefinitely works. Even after the bath water starts to cool you still feel all warm and fuzzy. And it makes you sweat, which I suppose is good, if you’re sick and desperate like I am. And it smells good.

After my bath I went and took a nap. And had some really, really weird dreams. About giving a giant cartoon centipede made of eyeballs a colonoscopy with antifreeze. But that’s beside the point. It was a good bath.
