Snowflake Emulsified Scrub Nuggets

This snowflake theme has images of pearly white things and glitter dancing in my brain, so sugar scrub nuggets—with lovely bits of sparkly sugar—were an absolute must. These adorable little nuggets are brilliant for gifting—pop ’em in a cute cellophane bag with a nice bit of white ribbon for an adorable stocking stuffer, or perhaps as part of a larger snowflake themed gift set (heavens knows we’ll have more than enough recipes for that by December!). You’re guaranteed to make the day of anyone who needs a bit of time to chill in the bath and just needs a bit of an excuse to pamper themselves—and what’s a better excuse than some homemade Snowflake Emulsified Scrub Nuggets?!

Vanilla Spice Hand Wash

I’m a bit hooked on making hand washes these days. They’re fun and easy, and something I’ll likely end up using 10–20 times (or more!) in a day, depending on what that day looks like. So, unlike something like lip balm or lotion, which tends to take a while to use up, I feel like I absolutely torch through hand wash. Some people would consider that a problem, but I’m just stoked that I get to make more things! This Vanilla Spice Hand Wash is all kinds of lovely, with creamy, fluffy bubbles, and makes all the hand washing I do a pleasure. Plus, who doesn’t need hand wash? It’s an awesome homemade version of something that’s usually purchased at a store, making it a great gift!

Vanilla Spice Body Butter Bar

It has been far too long since I’ve made a body butter bar, and this year’s Vanilla Spice theme was absolutely begging to be body-butter-barred. I also wanted to play a bit more with some silky, lightweight cetyl alcohol to create a luxxy body bar that was a bit lighter and more satiny than some of the ones I’ve made in the past. As with all body butter bars it comes together in a flash—measure, melt, stir, and pour, and that’s it! Perfect for gifts 🙂

Snowflake Body Lotion

This decadent, whippy lotion is in perfect keeping with our snowflake theme; it’s light and fluffy, but with the most wonderful rich, creamy consistency that feels incredibly luxurious. The scent is softly herbal, and even though it’s really thick it’s delightfully light and fast-absorbing—perfect for using on your hands without leaving smudges on your phone and every piece of paper you touch. I’ve taken this lotion with me on my recent travels and I’ve always been happy to have it in the middle of airports and busy cities as a little touch of calm and hydration. You should definitely add some Snowflake Body Lotion to your holiday making list 🙂

Chamomile Winter Hand Butter

When I was a kid I had the most absurdly dry hands—the kind of dry that hurts. I can remember having hands so dry that lotion stung, and they’d crack and bleed. I think I was about twelve or thirteen when I realized I was sick of having sore lizard hands and it was in my power to do something about it. I started carrying lotion around in my backpack and things improved immensely, and I’ve never looked back. My hands are still pretty prone to dryness, though—between diligent washings and our very dry climate the answer to “want some hand lotion?” is always an emphatic yes. So, I thought I’d baby my hands a bit with this Chamomile Winter Hand Butter.

Snowflake Face Mask Mix

I’m a huge fan and advocate of clay face masks—I love the pampering factor, how they gently exfoliate, and how they help clear out my pores, leaving my face refreshed and invigorated. For all the praise I heap on them, though, it’s been a hard thing to get my not-DIY-inclined friends to adopt, and I get it. It’s not cheap to buy store-bought clay masks, and when you look at buying the supplies for yourself you’re often looking at minimum quantities of clays and other ingredients that aren’t all that “mini” if you’re not using them for anything other than face masks. All of this adds up to make face mask mixes awesome gifts. Thoughtful, inexpensive when you’re already interested in the ingredients, and valuable to those who don’t want to find space in their home for a kilo or two of light, fluffy powders. Booyah. Enter this Snowflake Face Mask Mix—your friends will thank you!
