Moisturizing Repair Cream

Welcome to our first formulation of 2020—a beautiful Moisturizing Repair Cream! I am so excited about this rich, nourishing hand cream. It’s positively perfect for this time of year, helping protect skin against the winter dry and cold. Our two power ingredients are deeply moisturizing and inexpensive vegetable glycerin and niacinamide, AKA vitamin B3, which helps reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and boost ceramide production. The finished cream has a rich, decadent texture and delivers a long-lasting immediate hydration boost. Booyah!

How to Research Your Ingredients: Part 1

We’re kicking off 2020 with a bit of a multi-part guide on how to research your ingredients—a super important skill! I often hear from people who have bought something but they don’t remember what for, so they’re left with an ingredient with no defined purpose or use. I want to empower you to be able to figure out what to do with that ingredient on your own—you shouldn’t need a blogger for that sort of thing when there are so many wonderful resources out there!

Winter Solstice Bath Bombs

Today we’re creating some striking bath bombs to celebrate the winter solstice (technically the solstice was the night of the 21st, but here in Calgary the 23rd is only 8 seconds longer than the 21st, so I think we can still call it solstice season!). A cool, purpley base shimmers like the night sky with accents of colour-shifting biodegradable glitter. Once in the bath, these sparkly tub treats fizz away, turning your bath water purple with dancing whorls of glitter. Pair with a mug of hot tea and a good book for a perfect winter night!

White Chocolate Peppermint Lip Scrub

I’ve had quite a few requests for a new lip scrub formulation recently, and I thought our White Chocolate Peppermint theme was perfectly suited to a lip scrub—so here we are! This DIY is quite crunchy, with just five simple ingredients. It’s pretty easy to whip up (literally—it’s whipped!) and can be gifted in cute little tins or jars. Pair it with one (or both) of the holiday lip balms I’ve already shared this season for a decadent lip treat!

Cranberry Orange Whipped Body Butter

Today’s DIY is a whippy, lightweight, fast-absorbing Cranberry Orange Whipped Body Butter—and it’s also our last cranberry orange DIY of the 2019 holiday making season! You’ll only need four simple ingredients and some electric beaters to whip up this body butter. Pair it with some other DIY’ed cranberry orange goodies for a lovely gift set… or just keep it for yourself because it’s pretty awesome 😉
