Calming Milk and Honey Face Mask

This past weekend I ran my first-ever 10km race! It was in Montreal, and it was proper hot last weekend—so hot they cancelled the full marathon out of safety concerns. The 10k race was at 8:45am and it was already somewhere between warm and hot when that started, mostly thanks to the humidity; it was 28°C with the humidex when I checked. Those were ten extremely sweaty kilometres. Anyhow—I was expecting to be sore afterwards, but the thing that really caught me off guard was how my face felt. Hot, yes, but… well, it stung from all the sweat. Apologies if that’s far too much information, but there you have it. I was completely surprised to find my cheekbones were stinging and my eyelids were itchy like I’d just been in the ocean, but minus the ocean. So, upon my return home I thought a soothing face mask was in order—hence this Calming Milk and Honey Face Mask.

Silky Chamomile and Shea Salve

On the face of it, this salve sounds simple. Chamomile, shea, some carnauba wax. Meh. Nothing fancy, right? But… oh. Oh my. It’s so much more than you’d think from looking at the ingredient list. Smokey raw shea butter and silky, nutty macadamia nut oil are infused with chamomile flowers and a hint of bee propolis. Add a bit of glossy carnauba wax and you’ve got a rich, creamy salve that smells incredible and leaves your skin feeling surprisingly silky—there’s no shea butter stickiness or greasiness here. This pretty yellow Silky Chamomile and Shea Salve is so much more than the sum of its parts.

Vanilla Coco Body Lotion

This decadent Vanilla Coco Body Lotion smells wonderfully of vanilla, chocolate, and coconut. I may or may not have spent an embarrassingly long time smelling my hands after testing it out for the first time (and after every subsequent use, if we’re being honest). This lotion has become a quick favourite with many of my female friends, and they can’t stop sniffing their hands either. So yes, it smells awesome, and it’s not just me.

Perfect Body Butter Bars

I’m having a hard time deciding what it is I love most about these perfect body butter bars. Is it how they melt perfectly on contact with my skin and absorb quickly? Is it their amazing, delicious scent, which comes entirely from the butters and oils they’re made from? Is it that you just need three ingredients and maybe 10 minutes to make them? Perhaps I’ll never be able to decide, but suffice it to say, there’s something in these bars for everybody to love.

The Easiest Body Butter Bars Ever

I am absolutely in love with cocoa butter these days. It just smells so good, and it melts at just the right temperature, and it’s all smooth and soft (unlike some butters which are sticky on the skin). Best of all, it leaves you smelling of a beautiful, high-end chocolate bar, and that is just fantastic. And… you can use it to make the easiest body butter bars ever. Seriously.
