This is one blog entry I’ve hoped to write for years, and I can’t believe I finally am. Drumroll, please…
I’m writing a book! Make it Up: The Essential Guide to DIY Makeup and Skin Care, By Marie Rayma, creator of HumblebeeandMe.com will be out Fall 2016, and it will feature loads of new recipes (like the liquid foundation and eyeliner I’ve been teasing), a few long-time favourites, and lots of re-vamped recipes that might look familiar but will be re-formulated to be better than ever.
The book will contain a lot of the recipes I’m wearing here—brow powder, liquid eyeliner, new mascara formulas, that awesome lip paint, and way more! Eeeep!
My book will be published by Running Press. It’s too early to say exactly where it’ll be available, but the USA and Canada are pretty safe bets, and there will be an eBook as well as a physical book. There’s also always shipping, so if you want a copy, you shall have a copy!
I can’t thank all of you enough for supporting me over the last 4+ years—it means the world to me, and has been a huge part in getting this far. Thank you so much for every comment; every recipe critique; every shared tidbit, fact, or experience; and every kind word. You guys push me to do better and inspire me to keep creating, and I can’t adequately express my gratitude. I’m so excited to be taking this next step with you guys at my side. You’re the best—truly.
I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted on when pre-orders open! In the meantime, I’ve got a lot of writing, testing, and picture taking to do. Eeeeep!

What are the steps in writing & publishing a book ? Congrats
Thanks, Donna! The way I went about it was finding a literary agent (referred by a reader who is also an author), and then I developed a proposal with my agent. Once we had a publisher I was basically left to my own devices to write away, with a deadline looming in the distance to motivate me haha!

I have been making my own products for years and selling them in Australia for 12 months, but I very recently found your site and you have given me some great ideas that have evolved some of my products further. I am always particularly impressed by your nose for scent – your lavender, cardamom and bergamot combo is now a staple in the diffuser beside my bed for when I need some serious calming before bed. Your passion and commitment is amazing, and the regularity with which you come up with new ideas …. My own 3 children tend to get in the way of my creative processes!
