Did you put ingredients together in a glass measuring cup placed in a sauce pan containing about an inch of water, melting over medium low heat?
When you melted all your ingredients together, did they become a uniform golden liquid?
After all the ingredients were melted, did you remove the measuring cup from heat?
Once removed from heat, the liquified ingredients should slowly begin to cool as the measuring cup they are inside cools. You should notice more solid bits on the sides first. Start scraping these off and stirring them into the liquid part. This process should go faster as the measuring cup and the ingredients inside cool down. The lotion will also turn more and more opaque as it cools. Stirring during this cooling process should help the lotion feel more “whippy”, rather than becoming a solid chunk.
