ParticipantI normally wash daily since I think my curls looks like crap if I don’t, but I thought I’d stop washing for a few days. It’s raining here and it’s going to frizz anyway, so why bother?? So, I’ve just been refreshing it. I think it actually looks alright and isn’t frizzing too bad. What do y’all think?

ParticipantIt looks nice, Belinda! It’s not as curly as your day 1, but that’s too be expected. It’s not frizzy though! I would leave it as is, and enjoy not washing your hair everyday, haha.
It took me a while to accept my day 2-3 hair since I kept wanting it as curly as day one, but now I just view it as different hair styles.

ParticipantYes! That is what bothers me too, I think. The curls just start relaxing out, frizzing, and then it all starts getting really stringy looking so I just say “forget it” and wash it. It has been nice not having to go through all the washing/styling routine the past couple of days, though. Getting ready for the day takes half the time! I guess I will have to adjust my thinking, too, and think of my 2nd and 3rd day hair as new hair styles like you Joyful! Thanks!

ParticipantMy day two hair is less curly wavy. Day three starts getting cranky. I think my hair is detoxifying from the bad stuff. I think it hates me or loves me. Once I deep condition it, it will love me again.
Twin, you look awesome! I’m debating on growing out the bangs or not. It’s near time to trim them up before they start getting irritating. Lol

ParticipantYep, your hair is definitely detoxing. That lasts about 6-8 weeks and then it’s ahhhhhhh. It was my scalp that drove me crazy, it itched so bad! I was so thankful when that part was over!!
Try growing your bangs out. You just have to figure out a way to pin them back so they don’t bug you to death! I know the point you’re talking about since I grew mine out about twenty years ago. I just clipped them back with some mini clips and everyone got to stare at my big fat face! I have the classic broad German face, wide across forehead and jaws, sort of square shaped. Thank you ancestry!! But I kept trimming my hair up around my face a little each time I got it cut until it was finally long enough to blend in. It still was a little short, too short to tuck behind the ears, but it was “technically” one length! I’ve not cut in into bangs since. It’s much better this way, I think. I doubt I’ll ever have bangs again since I don’t want to go through that process again!

ParticipantMy bangs are getting long. Evil bangs. Oh, you missed the curls in the front of my hair. Well, not really, I took picture. Lmao.
I have blah Face. I was tired. Very tired. Lol

ParticipantI think your hair is getting waiver and curlier Twin! It’s subtle, but it’s there! I love your expression in the second photo. The cock of your head and the expression that says “don’t mess with me!”! I love the ‘tude!

ParticipantWAVIER, not waiver. Grrrr, auto correct!!
March 20, 2017 at 8:48 pm #21164Cynnara
ParticipantTrust me, waiver would work. I was cranky. Tired, hurting, and upset I had to work today. Lmao. Plus I’m like, should I dye my hair or let it go however colour it wants. I’m getting to the point of it’s getting weird! Lmao.

ParticipantWhen I started the CG method, I stopped highlighting my hair. So, what you see on my head is 100% my natural hair color. I’m surprised it’s not more gray, to be honest, but believe me, they are trying to take over!! Haha

ParticipantSo, I think I’m done purging. Oh please let it be so! I am on day three of no wash, hair is ok, not too greasy, and will need to be cleaned tomorrow. The curls are eh, as my hair is up due to the “OMG, I’m melting!” weather we’re having.
But yeah. It’s not too bad. But the first day…my hair had spiral curls. And I put nothing on them for a good hour while I just giggled at their prettiness. And yes, the lighter the better when it comes to everything for my hair. Gel, spray, etc. It gets anything with weight and blech.

ParticipantAwesome Twin! Your detox is over and now you get to go through the frustrating process of “what’s going to work on my hair today??”. I swear, just when I think I have it all figured out at TWO YEARS, my hair will change AGAIN. It’s doing that now, so I chopped it off! Now, it’s shoulder length, curlier around my face and a small bit of wave in the back. But my underside, which has total straight pieces mixed with the wave, is having some kind of curly revival. I’m seeing ringlets popping up under there! Whaaaa??? I swear my hair has multiple personalities!! I’m going to give it a protein treatment and deep conditioning treatment to see if I can perk up the curls a bit more. I’ve been lazy and not done that in a while. Could be why my hair is mis-behaving….
Twin, if your curls need a light touch, try spraying stuff like the gel on your hands, rubbing together, then running your hands over your hair lightly. That gives you some hold but won’t be heavily applied like it would if you sprayed it on directly. During the summer, humid weather, I don’t apply very many products at all because I have the same issue of the weight pulling out the curl. I do just a drop of curl cream, a tiny bit of gel, air dry, and good to go! The humidity will do the rest for you! Haha! I figured out that the glycerin was pulling too much moisture into my hair and pulling out the curl from the weight. So super light touch is perfect during hot, humid weather.

ParticipantWhen my hair gets too heavy, curls pull out. Plus I built up too much silicone-the bad kind for me. I have to remember to,spray my hands then rub. I was spraying the air and walking into the mist. Argh! It’s not easy figuring this out!
My longish bangs are in the eww phase. Not long enough to do anything like curl, and definitely not long to tuck away. 😡😡😡 It’s annoying. Sigh.

ParticipantI remember that phase well. It really sucks!!
May 2, 2017 at 8:42 pm #22308Cynnara
ParticipantBwahaha! The spray on the hands worked! I had to do it twice. But my hair wasn’t sticky or bogged down or feeling crunchy eww! 🙌🏻🙌🏻👍🏻😁
