ParticipantI want my white to be white! It’s weird, but yeah. Like that pearly white and even Snow White so it showcases the other colour. So, grinding and mixing will be important.
Shango is going to give me the deadly eye. Lmao. But yeah, I don’t let him in while I’m doing butters or lotions.
This is my canning set. It’s porcelain on stainless steel. The crazy things I collect.

ParticipantYeah, I’m still going to go with NO on the canning pot. Straight up stainless steel, no fancy porcelain enamel extras. Splurge and get the stainless steel pot from Target. Even if you don’t end up using it regularly for soaping, you can throw that sucker in the dishwasher and use it for cooking after it’s cleaned. Or, you know, have another thing collecting dust in your apartment…..😁

ParticipantI love plain ole pure white soap! To me, it just looks, well, clean. Pure. Like Ivory Soap but way better!!

ParticipantLmao, so no to my steel canning pot. My male said no to his wings stock pot. Lol. So, hat size are we talking? 8, 12, 16 quart?
I need numbers. Otherwise I will guess lower than higher to save money. Think of it like this, if I like it- at least once a month, soaping. Max of 5 lbs until I figure it all out. Lol

ParticipantI think I got the 8 quart size. It was around $12-$15 at Target, I think. It wasn’t as large as my big soup pot I have, which is about as wide across as my forearm, roughly. This one was tinier and so cute sitting next to the big soup pots. It was like the soup pot’s little kid. Haha!

ParticipantSold! Puts it in cart. $14 and with lid! Go me! Go me! Even picked up the lye forever pitcher. Hehehe. No debating if I want little pitchers or just use whatever stuff I have.

ParticipantI still want the cute little stainless steel pitcher for mixing my lye. I’ll probably never get it, or at least won’t get it until my lye pitcher cracks and splits apart from overuse! You have served me well, plastic pitcher! Now on to the pretty shiny pitcher I have longed for! Haha!

ParticipantOmg, Amazon has a good size one for like $8

ParticipantAmazon ticked me off earlier this week. I’m not speaking to them right now. *she says while scowling and crossing her arms*

ParticipantI see. *blinking* They are being butts. Yes.
I don’t remember which oils are hard, which are soft. This is an order emergency! Red alert! Red alert!
February 26, 2017 at 10:26 am #20624BelindaSK
ParticipantHard oils are butters….Shea, cocoa butter, mango butter, coconut oil (sorta), lard, tallow, Kokum, cupuacu, basically things that are solid and you have to melt them. Also called fats on some blogs/websites.
Soft oils are liquid oils.
Is this what you’re talking about?

ParticipantAnd about Amazon…they sent me a nice coupon, good for that day only. So, I went shopping, which you KNOW is a long, decision-making process, and went to check out, and that #%€$ coupon code wasn’t valid! On anything I tried to buy. I read and re-read the email, no restrictions or rules other than spend $50 on Amazon Prime. Did it, re-did it, re-did it third time, a fourth time, and no matter what I did, it never accepted that coupon! Total waste of my time!! I was so ticked off, I fired off an email to them and the idiot who responded sent me a WHOLE LIST of rules and restrictions! You really don’t want to know what my reply to that was! I literally had steam coming out my ears. So, Amazon, you can go suck a lemon!!

ParticipantI would have them escalate it to a manager. Remind them that there was no written restrictions on the coupon, so a failure on their part means legally they’re obligated.

ParticipantAmazon’s response…well, you know it was only good for 24 hours….me…it wasn’t good at all because the error message kept saying “invalid code”!!!
So, let’s spend $0 at Amazon and buy what I need elsewhere, which is exactly what I did!

ParticipantYes….no…maybe? Lol. Aren’t some oils meant to help harden soaps more than others? So if you have too many or too much, it’s bad, really bad? This is what happens when you let me loose reading and on websites!
I bought oils. Lots of oils. Twin is a very bad influence on me. Marie is almost as bad. I’m just wandering around trying to figure out how to make stuff with what I have and what I can wait. It’s not pretty. I am SO ready to soap!
