You can use all liquid oils to make soaps, you can use all “fats” to make your soaps, you can use whatever you want! That’s the beauty of it! Play around on soap calc with different oil combos and different percentages. I try to get the INS number to fall within the ranges it has recommended. But, then again, you don’t have to do that either. Lots of soapmakers do combos of oils/butters that don’t and I’m guessing their soaps turn out just fine. Otherwise, why would they post them? Unless they’re trying to trick us, which wouldn’t be very nice!!

The pearly effect would be from the micas she used. I think she sprinkled some on the top of that soap and that’s how she got the pearly look. Either that or it was the mica she used to color the soap batter was that color and sheen.

Barb, you need to tell us how you got the pretty pearly color before Twin goes mad! Haha! You know she’s going to be working on recreating that pretty pearl effect you had going on with your soap!

I need it. Seriously, it reminds of when I was younger and I need it. Lol
