Came across a supplier in Canada that I’ve never seen before. It’s called Purple Citrus. I was looking for Bayberry Wax and they popped up. Have any of y’all heard of or used them before? Their prices look pretty good.

So, I was researching a -cone, since I’m told silicone and my hair should not meet unless it’s water soluble and my brain went duh….

I found a new supplier. Well an old new supplier. I’ve known about them a while ago, forgot and now, huh found them again! Lol. http://www.makingcosmetics.com/Amodimethicone_p_975.html

And they ship to Canada and overseas!

That’s great 🙂 now that I see those links, I remember having seen them quite a while ago, but never purchased from them. I can get almost every I personally need (except carmine, and certain white powders) from a mix of Voyageur Soap and Candle, and from Candora Soap. For the rest, I haven’t found a canadian source. However, I know they don’t carry all the things some people would need to make shampoos and conditioners, only some ingredients.

Tada! I just ordered from here. Don’t ask, just go with that I went insane. It’s easier.

Making Cosmetics has some cool stuff, but I’ve never bought from them, either. I have a feeling I could go a little coo-coo in that store! The Chemistry Store, what can I say…..we’re old friends! Haha! A gallon of cocamidopropyl betaine? Don’t mind if I do!😁 Sorry Twin! And you didn’t go COMPLETELY insane…….

I tried to be good. Considering the damage I did overall, yes. Lol

I think you actually made some great purchases, all geared towards the things you want to make. Yes, it was quite a bit of money, but I would say all of the things you got will be put to use. You can now go all mad-scientist and create some cool things! Soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotions…..you use all that stuff, right??? You did well, Twin! You’re going to have a lot of fun with your new goodies!

I just placed an order with a new company: Vanillafoodcompany.ca

They sell things to bake/cook with, but have a TON of flavour oils. They sell the LorAnn brand, which I have used in lipsticks before. I don’t really know what it is solubilized in, but it does mix fairly well with the oils (which it should since they can be used for chocolate). Sometimes it gives a slight swirling effect, but it doesn’t affect the look on the lips and doesn’t seperate. I bought cake batter, peach, black cherry, and butterscotch, plus the droppers that screw onto the bottles. They should all be sold with the droppers directly, because it’s a pain to use otherwise. I previously bought a tiny 1.7gram bottle of grape flavouring, and it’s still almost full, even though I used it for maybe 5 lipsticks. I only use about 2 drops per tube. I really hope the vanilla-y ones will smell nice. I’ve been wanting a vanilla smell for so long, but I keep getting things that smell chemically (fragrance oils), but since these are flavour oils, I think it will be ok.

I bought some of the flavor oils from LorAnn to use in lip balms. It’s been a while since I made any, but they’ve done well. I think I got mine at the local craft store in the cake decoration aisle. That’s about the only thing I can get locally!

I’m thinking the butterscotch flavor you got, Joyful, would be YUM in a lip balm/lip gloss recipe!!

I hope so! In stores, I could only find a few flavours, usually grape, lemon, and watermelon. I bought the grape, but for the rest I have lemon essential oil and don’t particularly want watermelon scented lipstick. I am a huge fan of vanilla-y smells though. Canada Post says I’ll get them tomorrow, but also says they haven’t moved so I’m crossing my fingers. Tomorrow I should have time to make cosmetics, so I’m hoping they will arrive in time!

I hope so too, Joyful! I always get so excited when I know a box is coming! Our deliveries usually come in the late afternoon/early evening though, so I can’t do anything with them until the next day anyway. Have fun with your new stuff!!

Ooh. I will have to consider those. I have grape, lemon, cola, cherry cola, and fruit punch. (I have niece and needs! Lol)

What about Canadian suppliers for containers? I offer workshops on how to make your own skincare and I use the frosted glass jars from New Directions. They discontinued the jars and I haven’t found anywhere in Canada where you can buy small numbers of glass jars for cosmetics. Any ideas? Thanks!
