It is so easy to go crazy with this hobby and buy all kinds of ingredients you never use or just have way too much of. I am definitely at a stage where I need to use a bunch of stuff up before buying anything new to play with and I am definitely committing to smaller quantities in the future. What are some things that if you could go back and do it over again, you would never have bought? What do find yourself wanting to get rid of because it is just redundant? What things are you making to get some ingredients used up?
I am realizing that I have this big bottle of polysorbate 20 that is really just a waste of space because polysorbate 80 and olivem300 can do the same job but also handle carrier oils so they are more versatile/user friendly solubilizers.
I have all these plant extracts that I am realizing there is an essential oil equivalent and if I had to go back and do it over again, I would have just bought the essential oil because it preserves easier and is more versatile in use than these water based extracts.
I was realizing the other day that I could go through them much faster buy making a bunch of toner with them. I can go through a lot of toner pretty quickly.
There are many things I regret buying! In the beginning, I would see a recipe I’d want to try and, without thinking “what ELSE are you going to need this ingredient for”, would buy huge quantities of something that I ended up throwing away. I’m trying to be a bit more savvy now in my shopping excursions. Buying ingredients in smaller quantities really helps.
I so know what you mean. It’s the hardest part to get use to in my mind, how little you use of an ingredient. I’m actually excited when I use up the last of a bottle because I’ve freed up some space.
You'll need to upload them to a free image hosting service first—Imgur (http://imgur.com/) is great and doesn't require you to sign up for an account. Simply click " New Post" at the top of the page, drag your images into the window that pops up, and the images will automatically upload. From there you can hover the images and copy the URL that appears; simply paste that URL into your post on a new line and the image will appear automatically when you post!
