ParticipantSo after the nephew’s graduation, which was fab, I was sick, worked way too much. So today was Shango day with a side of creativity.
So I liked the airbrush stick and realised it could also be a great idea for foundation as well. Bwahaha!
Then I realised that why should I make Mr. Man body wash and not me? So, yes, I got creative. Made some adaptations in additives to be better for my skin. So far, I like!

ParticipantPicture three. Is that a scale? What is it?
If it is a scale, can I have it? It’s my birthday next month.
And I really really really want to make the sticky thingie Marie recently posted, I think that would be easy! And I’m having a mad love affair with the ceytl alcohol at the moment I am trying to figure out how to add it to everything because I really really like it.
@Marie Try adding it at 3% to your summer body scrub.May 31, 2017 at 7:30 pm #22616Cynnara
ParticipantYes it is a scale. It’s a dual scale so you can weigh big and little at the same time. It’s most awesome.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LXXBQWD/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Even has its own weight for calibration.

ParticipantScale is in Amazon shopping cart! Niiiiiice! Now, I need to find a pH meter. How do you know which ones are good/accurate/etc….? And how do you clean them after you dip them in something gooey?
Twin, looks like you made some fabulous goodies! I made gel. Now I need to figure out what I’m going to make with this wonderful gel!
I want to make that foundation/airbrushing stick too! It looks fabulous!

ParticipantpH meter yup. Apera. They’re great. You rinse in distilled water. Then store in the cover provided. You’ll need pH solution to calibrate. But these are great and easier to use.

ParticipantI have been looking at ph meters, but the only ones I can easily get, are over 200USD. Ummm… yeah. No. Litmis paper just doesn’t do it for me!

ParticipantDear Marie…
I’m tired. Just made way too many emulsified sugar scrubs. Please make my bubble bath gel for me. Thanks. 😆June 30, 2017 at 8:07 pm #22941Penny
ParticipantHello? Is anyone there? Is this thing on????
I’ll make anything you want me to make. As long as you buy the ingredients!!!! BWHAHAHAHA!!!
Nicely done! If you don’t mind the question, looking at your pictures, your emulsified scrub looks sooooo creamy! And nice and hard. What recipe are you using? And one more question, how hot is it where you are????
Makes me wish I lived in North America to do a swap! But for now, will be stuck looking at recipes and pictures!!!
Did you fragrance them? If so, which scents? Looking at your pictures I would say a lovely floral, citrus and maybe an earthy scent would be lovely. Very light scents though!!!

ParticipantNice scrubs Twin! They look lovely! I like the different colors in them!
Yes, we’re still here Barb. Where are you?!?! I guess everyone’s busy this summer because I check back periodically and no one’s been on. I’ve been busy with school being out (try entertaining a young child with the attention span of about 5 minutes, if I’m lucky, ALL DAY LONG! Very exhausting!!) and husband being gone, gone, gone on weekly business trips. Single parenting sucks!
I’ve not had much time to make stuff but I did manage to make lotion and cleansing balm yesterday. Now I want to make more stuff but we’re headed out of town in a couple of days and I have to wash, pack, and get various other chores done before we go. Fun times!!

ParticipantLet’s see…for the past five days… 90 degrees plus, that’s Fahrenheit. My Celsius sucks.
I actually used two different recipes. One is using foaming bath butter, which I’m finding to a fun new toy. Where has this stuff been? The other is a recipe from Ariane from La Mer de Magdalene. I love it. Creamy and easy to make.
I’ve been immersed in soap research and writing. I interviewed for a new position at work and I’m hoping I get it. Step up, and a lot to do. Plus, if that doesn’t work, I’m trying to create a new job. 😁😄

ParticipantI’ve seen that foaming bath whip stuff. On WSP, I believe?? Is that what you got? It always sounds so nice but I have no idea what I’d use it for, to be honest. I’m not much of a body scrub kind of gal, and I love my handmade soap bars too much to give them up for a foaming bath whip, no matter how nice it sounds!!
Good luck on the job thing! Let us know what happens!

ParticipantI’m here! and I have been making lol, just not uploading. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled and am just slowly getting over it. Some days all I did was make a new thing and back to the couch. I made me some shower jelly!!!! after many many fails….. and it smells so yummy and doesn’t melt in the shower. This is something my kids wanted badly. I am in the process of making the green tea trio that Marie has posted in the last while too…but I don’t like the scent. And I made the primer stick too, which has a heavenly smoothing look to it 🙂

ParticipantCyn, so you’ve been having about 32C weather… Central air? Air conditioning? In my house at the moment, it is 31C, and I feel as if life itself has been sucked out of me. My kitchen has hardly seen any action of late- I tried creating a new Citrus Burst Line to test out over the summer as the Cucumber Mint Rocked my face, but was sweating so bad a bead of sweat dribbled off my nose and landed in the funnel. Yup. Had no idea how to preserve that ingredient so used it for a few days then tossed it.
I started out with Ariannes public recipe for Body Scrubs and changed them to suit living in China needs but kept the stuff thats in there to suspend and thicken. Swapped liquid oils for liquid oils kind of thing. I remade a batch of her recipe again to see if maybe my melting issue was because of the oils and such I swapped with. It was kind of funny. The coconut oil rises within a few minutes of stirring. I then tried a bunch of various thickening stuff- my new love ceytl alcohol, fail. Cocoa butter, fail. Candelilla wax, fail. More sugar/salt, fail. More stearic acid, fail. Carnuba wax, fail.So I guess summers in China, are for pick up only!!! BWHAHAHAHAA!

ParticipantHello Connie! Sorry about your wisdom teeth. OUCH! Feel better soon! Sounds like you’re been doing some great crafting!
The jellies sound so cool! Do share! My young un’ might enjoy those…..or me! Those sound like a cool gifting idea too.
I so want to make the primer stick! It looks fantastic. Twin had a great idea for the liquid base in Marie’s book…sub squalane for the jojoba and add some silica microspheres. I am so going to try that too!! I guess that will have to wait until Baby Girl goes back to school, though, so I can work without interruption.
Barb, you don’t have any AC?!?! Yikes! That’s not good! I wouldn’t feel like doing anything either.

ParticipantConnie! Omg, teeth. Ow! I have to have a crown put in and I’m dreading it. 😳
Yeah. I have central air in Florida, but my asthma reacts to the weather the moment I step out into the water laden humidity from heck. It’s evil.
I finally made my new liquid concealer/foundation and 😲 it’s so light and airy and goes on to a dry finish that’s so freaking awesome.
