So when you create gifts for friends and family, what are your go to items? For my niece, it’s the princess lip balm with a hint of shimmer. Plus matching lotion for her.

For the others, there’s lip balm, body butter (which my family craves for some reason), pain ease salve, hand sanitizers, and my aloe cream. Those are the most popular by far. Oh, and Marie’s Rocky Mountain foot balm with some tweaks.

My sisters have sensitive skin like myself, so I figure once I get the makeup figured out, the eyeshadows will be popular. Everything else would need tweaking. Lol

That is a funny subject with me, oddly enough. My friends love anything I give them, to try or as a gift, and beg for more. They’re always willing to be guinea pigs. My mother in law loves my lotions. Says that’s the only thing that really helps her skin. She loves my homemade soap too. My mom, she’s a little funny about it. I’ve been making soap for over two years now and she just recently tried it. Swooned over it (told you Mom!!) but now has to work through her stash of Oil of Olay bars before she will use it permanently. She seems interested in my lotion, but never outright asks me to make her more, so I don’t know if she’s just being polite, or really likes it. Plus, I’m sure she has a stash of lotion too. She likes buying in bulk since she doesn’t get out much, I guess. Emma’s teachers and assistants love getting homemade soap and lotion. Beg for more lotion, in fact. My female in-laws have zero interest. Look at my stuff like there’s bugs crawling in it or something. One of my sister-in-law’s even commented “I will only use stuff made in a sterile lab”. It was on the tip of my tongue to say “yeah, you’re right, I did sneeze in it once or twice…”. Haha! My brother and his wife, same way. Looked at me like I’d grown two heads when I gave them some homemade soap and lip balms. My oldest son doesn’t use soap or shampoo at all when he bathes. I don’t think he wears deodorant either. Apparently that’s some kind of movement with a group of people. Oddly enough, he doesn’t stink, but I still think it’s odd. He does wash his hands with soap, though, but his boyfriend loves Mrs. Meyers soaps so that’s what’s in their houses. My middle son flat out said “not interested”. My youngest son and his girlfriend wanted to try some of my soap, but they live near Seattle, so I don’t know if they’re actually using it or were just being nice. I keep one of my neighbors supplied with my soap because she loves it. Says it’s the only soap that keeps her skin from flaking and she doesn’t have to use lotion. She’s that neighbor who will always help you out so I keep her supplied as one of my ways of saying “thank you” for helping us when we go out of town. So, there is my long-winded answer.

My favorite is face mask parfaits, lip balms, argan/pomegranate serum, and argan face lotion. My obsession started with those so I try to get everyone else hooked there also 🙂 My sister-in-law is about to give birth so I also gave her a belly bar and some diaper cream (shea, mango, coconut, and grapeseed + zinc oxide) and I’m going to whip up some baby powder soon for when the wee one arrives (only a few weeks now!)

I’m curious as to what would make a good guy teacher gift for an active outdoorsy sort. Any ideas? I’m overrun with the male of the species on my gifting list

Ouchie! No, never walk away from anything you’re making. That’s when it will behave badly!!

And yes, they are all the same no matter where you go. I’m just looking at him going “not helping!!” as he wiggles his eyebrows and leers at me. Big doofus!!

Aww, it’s males are crazy. Men enjoy easy things, Good soaps, shave cream, aftershave tonic, shampoos and conditioners, and some like beard oil. (Mine only has goatee, so not so much. Lol) Some even enjoy manly body sprays.

I ripped apart the bathroom for these fun things. Lol

My hubster likes simple things. Nice bar of soap which doubles for him as a shaving bar. He likes Marie’s naked lip balm recipe. He also likes the low-poo shampoo I make him. SLS breaks him out so he won’t touch any store bought shampoos now. That’s all I make in the “stuff to make for males” category.

You know, a good gift for males, if you know they’re athletic or do a lot of walking or running, would be the Rocky Mountain Foot Butter recipe. I would think a male would like that.

Yes. I make it for my sister and her boyfriend. She adores it. He steals hers. So I make a double batch for them both.

A good cleansing soap for hands after working in the garden or outside is great too.
