lol I’m allergic to cockroaches too! Like deathly. But carmine, I seem to be okay. I bough 4 sample sizes. 😁 I be sneaky.

I need a cheese supplier who loves me. And a chocolate supplier. Hehe

My lip stain is at home, in another country. I couldn’t sleep (my family has a defective sleep gene so meh), and got to thinking about the Snow White lip stain.

I tried mine on clean dry lips. I allowed it to dry. But, I didn’t apply anything over top. Like a lip chap or anything. Those of you who have been having issues with the lip stain, can you try it out for me? Exfoliate lips, let dry, make sure no oil on the lips, apply stain. Let dry. Let dry. Then apply some lip chap. Let me know how it goes!

Pretty please! I find a lot of problems in the DIY world have the simplest solution. But I’m not home to try it out! And if you guys don’t answer, I do have the ingredients to whip up a batch and try it all out! My sister would kill me though.

Zil was having issues with this too. She started another post this morning. I don’t think she saw this one.

I tried putting straight lanolin to seal the stain with no luck. It just beaded up within the lanolin after about 10 mins. Oh maybe we can get info on where to buy the right carmine. I also just bought samples from tkb, not thinking to look under lippies. I hope this still works well for the other makeup at least. I’m so heart broken.

Did you use the carmine under the makeup colours from Tkb, Zil?

The sample of carmine I bought was under Makeup on TKB. Think there might be different ones??

I bought the same thing, but was using their old website for some reason. I have not used the carmine yet. I bought the lake color too as a “just in case” in the event of an allergic reaction.

I need to go mix up this lip stain and see what my lips do.💋

Ok, just made the lip stain with carmine and here’s the results…
Scrubbed lips with sugar and agave, dried, then waited a mintute to apply the lip stain. 8 minutes later it’s still not dry and so I blotted it with a Kleenex to try and help it along. Ten minutes later, I’m still able to wipe off with a Kleenex and it’s pretty much gone. So, mine seems like a bust too.

Hmmm. Weirdness. I looked at the carmine under the makeup and lipstick sections. They’re the same. The only different carmine is the premixed one in castor oil. I’m wondering why it’s not working? Humidity? Heat?

Let me go look. I’m now afraid. I’ve never made lipstain before.

Just checking…we did the lip stain, not the same named lip gloss, yes? The one with glycerine, water, carmine, and preservative.

Going to grab my stash. Let’s see my boldness. Lol

Okay, I’m not having the issues you all are having. I will say that the first layer I put on was light with my lip brush, but then again, I’m afraid of the clown look. Then I reapplied the lip stain again twice. Waited ten minutes. One thing I made sure of, is when I went to apply the stain, is I thoroughly mixed with my brush, in case the carmine settled.

This is the result. Still not deep red, but deeper than my pale lippie colour. You could try to add a bit more carmine to the mix for a deeper colour.

It takes about fifteen minutes to dry completely. Once it does, you’re fine. If it’s humid, can be a bit longer.

I tried it again after my shower. Applied very thin coat on bottom lip, then sort of sheered it out to the upper lip, trying to keep as thin as possible. Let it dry as I diffused my hair. Was lighter on top lip due to my strange application method, but seemed OK on bottom lip. Tried to apply a second coat to darken and it all went to he…..ck. It darkened up a little then just started coming off. So, definitely don’t try to layer! Trying again a third time then off to school pick up. I ought to get some strange looks if it sticks this time. Sweatshirt and ruby red lips!💋 What a sexy combo!!
