ParticipantHi guys!
I have been looking for a cheaper and good quality lipstick mold, but without luck. I will possibly be trying to make one in the future. I have a method that works for things like foundation/contour sticks for now.Anyone else had any luck with finding molds?
Let me know what you think 🙂Thanks!

ParticipantI’ve been looking at your blog and I have to say it sounds really, really similar to this one. The lotion basics article sounds quite familiar as though it is just condensed info from this blog. I think it is great to DIY and ok to be a beginner but I think one has to be careful about presenting ideas that have been inspired from someone else as your own.

ParticipantI think I agree with Artistalisa. Your blog seems to be a bit of a copycat of Humblebee & Me, and I found a lot of the recipes very familiar. Not to offend you, but your recipes basically look like, well, less professional versions of Marie’s.

ParticipantI found one on Amazon being sold by Making Cosmetics. See attached photo. Hope this helps

ParticipantBelinda, it kind of looks like a strange thing. What are you getting us into?
For the lipstick molds with the two holes in the bottom before the first lip, have you ever thought about taking a chopstick, getting a bit of product on the bottom, plugging those holes kind of like weighing down a wick in a candle? You’d have to work quickly and in cool conditions to get it right.
And since the ladies brought it up, I think your blog is fine. From all that I have seen, most DIY skincare, craft blogs, kid activity blogs, baking/cooking blogs all have a similar sort of set up as each other. They do a write up on top and have the instructs/ingredients below. Anyone who has a DIY skin care blog will have pictures and similar recipes to each other. The joke in Marie’s comments is she can read our minds or we can read hers. And that is because we all kind of end up at the same conclusion as each other just at different times.

ParticipantOh Barb, that’s BRILLIANT! And so easy to do! Plug up the hole first…..easy peasy lemon squeezie! OK, forget that lipstick mold thingie, Barb’s idea is better!!

ParticipantAnd, I’m not getting you into anything! Like I would do something like that! Never!!
Hey! Pssst! Over here….Have you found Penstia powder yet???😉

ParticipantLmao, I see Twin is encouraging lipstick mania for Barb. Lmao. I think plugging the holes would work or even creating a silicon mold would work. Im weird like that.

ParticipantHi guys!
Thank you so much for the idea Barb! I will definitely be experimenting with that! I have been thinking of making a silicon mold in the future, although my method would take a lot of time. I bought a cheap one off amazon and it was giving a good shape but not a good finish. It also has issues with release.August 6, 2017 at 4:37 pm #23478lovenature27
Participant@ArtistaLisa and @Maggie
Thank you so much for your concern about my blog. As Barb said, the formatting is quite similar all through out the DIY and Blogging community.
I do try to be mindful not to plagiarize! 🙂 Regarding the Lotion Making basics, yes the information is quite similar because it is the facts.
I also do formulate recipes of my own.I really do appreciate the contractile criticism though!
