I bought the samples from TKB trading and it turned out it doesn’t work for the lip stain. Where are people finding water soluble carmine?

I’m Not sure where you are shopping from but I found it on ebay out of Toronto from a cosmetics shop. I can look up the name of the shop if you are interested 🙂

I was looking at carmine too since everyone seems to be having a problem with it. I saw the one on eBay. The seller is cosmeticmaker and the company is http://www.makeyourowncosmetics.org out of Canada.

Zil, wasn’t it in powder form? This is where i’m planning to order from http://aromashoppe.eu/carmine-powder-341-p.asp they’re in the Netherlands i think, i don’t know if they ship overseas. They’re the only one i’ve found in Europe to stock powdered carmine. Aromazone has one dispersed in oil.

The TKB carmin is a powder that does great for in makeup but a few of us have learned i1 has no interest in staining lips or anything

I have the TKB carmine as well, and it doesn’t work as a lip stain either. It does disolve in water though. I’ve tried it less diluted, more diluted, etc., but it will come off as soon as it gets wet as though I have blood leaking from my lips. Great for halloween, less so for everyday wear. I know Marie used the carmine from Saffire Blue to create the recipe, but it is very expensive.

Hi there ~ I have ordered the carmine powder you are referring to, Sophie, from Aroma Shoppe. It was $19.95 for .25g The shipping cost $8.95 shipping and took a little while to get here but arrive it did. In the link you posted for aromashoppe at the top right you can click on “home” then choose Canada store. Not sure how that price compares to Sapphire Blue but at the time I didn’t have the minimum (?) $75 amount to order from Sapphire. I haven’t tried this carmine in the lip stain recipe yet.

this is where I got mine. It is based out of montreal. I didn’t think it was badly priced. It was 7.95 and free shipping for 4 g. I think it might be the Canadian link to AromaShoppe actually
