ParticipantLmao! Make that soap! They both look great! I love the swirls.

ParticipantThanks! I like how the first one turned out all the way around. The second one looked cool on the top, but when I sliced it, it was just “meh”. The hubster said it looked like bacon. I was like, “you’re right!”. That’s not something he hears too often! Haha! I sprinkled glitter on top of the second batch, which you can’t see in the photo. I was trying to be fancy!

ParticipantMy latest ones…
I’ve got a kilo of yoghurt in my freezer needing to be made into soap but just finally got some fragrance oils in so have been playing with lotions.
The blue soap is a chopstick vertical swirl and the other is my Chai Latte soap.
Most of my stock pile of soaps are heading south soon to a fair in Nanjing. Which I’m pumped about! I’m going to miss looking at them and beaming with pride, but I’d like to make back a little of what I’ve spent on them this past year!
The craziest thing I’ve learnt about soaping, is when someone says you shouldn’t do this or that, I usually so it. That Chai Latte Soap is over 3kg of oils with over 100g of coffee grinds. It has Clove essential oil, clove powder, cinnamon powder and more. And it’s one of my most popular soaps even though many in the soaping world say no to all the additives. If you’re practicing safe soaping methods, go only a little bit crazy, I say go have fun.

Participantohh, the blue looks like a tidal wave 🙂 Love it! Not ready for crazy soap as I am a beginner and not selling….you can only give so much away and use so much yourself 😛 . I want to reach out and sniff that chai latte, lol

ParticipantYup, still want chai latte. 😁 The blue and white one looks fabulous. It’s so relaxing to look at like a day at the beach. So, I’d get that since I’m landlocked in central Florida. But I love that I’m only a couple of hours from great beaches in either direction.

ParticipantBarb, LOVE the blue and white swirly soap!! Oh, I have to try one like that now!!! Blue and white swirls are just so beach-y! Oh! Light bulb over the head…..I have a YUUUUMMY coconutty fragrance oil that will be lovely with aqua, blue, and white swirls. I guess I’ll be making soap again real soon. But, what is a vertical chopstick swirl?? Similar to a hangar swirl??
Your Chai soap is awesome! I wish we could smell it through the Internet.
Good luck with your Fair!! When you’re done, we will all meet at Twin’s place to go to the beach for some R&R!🏖😎

ParticipantBeach! Beach! I want to know how to do this chopstick thing. How do we work the chopsticks for this. I barely can eat with them!

ParticipantBelinda I just browsed through and didn’t realize you had shared soap pics 😀 I fell in love with the pink one on the top, but really liked the swirlies in the orange/green one. So itching to make a bar again….hmm, its a rainy day….I wonder if mr man would put a mold together for me?

ParticipantMaking soap is my happy place.
I bought some Bamboo and Teak fragrance oils from NDA, and it is absolutely lovely! I had a custom order to fill with it and she asked for lots of delicate swirls. I made it with bamboo extract, moringa powder and French green clay and a tiny bit of green oxide (which ended up clumping together and I found it in a bar). My hope, is that some of the extracts will fade to a light brown and become an extra swirl to mix with the faint white and green ones.
Margarita Salt made with coconut lime from FNWL. Coconut 80% shea 20%. And lots and lots and lots of Himalayan salt. I made a salt scrub and lotion to match. I was planning on a room spray but ran out of fragrance oil!
Ummm.. what else is in the pictures?

ParticipantAh! Yes.
Asian Blossom Soap. Made with Asian Plum Blossom and cherry blossom fragrance oils from FNWL. Nice scent, but I couldn’t stand the cherry blossom fragrance so had to mix it. Figured if I have to live with it, I need to make it something I like.
Neem. This one is the star. I actually got asked to make this soap with more neem for the summer. And, half this batch is already sold. Anad it is not even cured yet. I actually have to cure this in another room so the other soaps don’t absorb the smell! Lol! My maid told me that my house has always smelt beautiful, but these days it smells like ass. I promised I’d give her a bar.

ParticipantCrap. And forgot those soap cupcakes. It’s my first try piping so I’ve got some play time ahead of me. I ordered in some frosting to play with. Figured that everyone in my life needs more cupcakes. I’ve a customer that actually tries to eat the things I make. So decided to give her something to really sink her teeth into.

ParticipantYou told me neem smells like garlic! You LIED to me?!?! Haha! I don’t want to make lotion or soap with oil that smells like ass! Now I’m really afraid to open the bottle I have of neem oil!!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the green and cream swirled soap!! And since I too have the Bamboo and Teak scent from NDA, I know it smells heavenly!! #GoBarb!
I’m trying to remember how Soap Queen says to do piped soap icing for soap cupcakes. I haven’t retained that info very well because I suck at icing cakes and cupcakes, so I can’t even imagine trying to pipe soap! I remember she whipped it somehow to make it stiffer, I believe….. did you whip your soap before putting it in a piping bag, Barb? #whipitwhipitgood
