    Hi everyone,

I am a newbie to this forum. I am anxiously awaiting my order from Saffire Blue (in Canada) of all the ingredients I need to make mineral makeup. I’ve been using it for years from a local supplier, but want to make my own.

I ordered my supplies before receiving my copy of Make It Up, and now I see that there is the suggestion of adding a few grains of green mica if red skin is an issue. I’ll say it is! The question is, what colour of green mica should I purchase? If anyone could make a suggestion based on Amazon, I’d appreciate the help.

    thanks in advance!

The book suggests iron oxide, not mica, that would be a bit too shimmery for foundation I would think. Look for chromium green oxide instead.

Magdelena is 100% right. Mica would be too shimmery for foundation wear, AND after a spin or two in the coffee grinder, there would be kind of a grey mess.

    Chromium Green for the win!

Thanks so much Penny and Magdalena! I should have looked at the recipe again. There probably aren’t too many iron oxides in green. Chromium Green it is then!
