I’m not sure how it happened, but here we are at the fourth birthday of my little blog! I can scarcely believe that thousands of you awesome people join me here to make messes—when I first got started I couldn’t imagine so many of you could ever care about my little projects.

I took an embarrassing quantity of selfies in order to end up with something where I looked sort of surprised/happy and not surprised/somebody just poked me in the bum. You’re welcome… I think.
As is becoming tradition, today I’ll go over a few favourite projects from the last year—my favourites, crowd favourites, favourites for gifting, and the things I’m most proud of.

Well, those are my tops. What are yours?
Congratulations!
Thanks!

Happy “Birthday”! Just love your blog, you’ve enabled me to make my life more beautiful, always interested in the natural DIY beauty, but you make it doable.
Merci, Marci 🙂
Rocky Mountain Foot Balm. I use it every single day. I also use your All In One soap every day but it’s not a 2015 recipe.
Everything I’ve made of yours, Birthday Girl, is beloved. Thank you for your endless hours…years… concocting for us.
You’re creative, innovative and giving.

Thanks so much, Barbara!
I love your blog it is my favorite. I have made alot of your products . The only thing I haven’t tried is your soap recipes. I for the life of me can’t figure the percents like 25% coconut oil ect. I use oz. I would love any advise on converting these. Is there a way I can do this math is not my strong point . I do you the sites you have posted and have passed them on to others.
Thanks
Melody
Thanks, Melody! Check out the FAQ for a good explanation on the percents 🙂
Happy Happy Blogging keep it up you are loved.
Thank you 😀

Thanks, Heather! 🙂
Congratulations and Happy 4th Anniversary. Thank you for all your hard work. I would never have even tried any of this were it not for you. I love the top five listings you give here. My favorite is making liquid soap the easy way. I think that’s where I started. But I also love the ruby lip tint.
Thanks so much, Sha! 🙂
Congratulations on your 4 year Blog Anniversary!! This is the best blog and also a smart blog (ie not making Sunscreen). I use many of your “recipes” exclusively. Certainly helpful for long Northern Michigan Winters. My husband likes to whip the Coco-Cocoa Whipped Body Butter for me 🙂
Thanks for a Great Blog. I appreciate the time and effort you put into it.
Thanks so much, Debra—I really appreciate it 🙂 Enjoy that body butter!
Happy Anniversary! Love your site. Thanks for all the wonderful info. Your selfie is great! Love the part about not wanting to look like someone just poked you in the bum! Please keep up the great work!
Thanks so much, Kim! I’m glad you got a kick out of that hard won selfie 😉

Happy Birthday to your blog from Finland too! 🙂
Thanks, Signe!
How Wonderful!! I have enjoyed your blog so much from finding you from a link from Thornberry, and what a delicious blog you have. I am inspired, and thrilled to think we can make our own things … Although as yet I have not ventured to make anything myself, shame on me. Thanks!
Congratulations, and keep it up!!!
Thanks so much, Mare! 🙂
Happy Birthday Humblebee&me! Thank you Marie for all your wonderful recipes and the time and effort you put to testing and developing them in order to share with us!
I don’t have a top 5 yet because I haven’t tried many of your recipes, but the 2 things that have made more of a difference for me were the non-ACV rinse and the clay masks.
Using the non ACV rinse when the seasons change and the rains and humidity start is a great way to be sure that i don’t start smelling like a salad when my hair gets a hint of water! Clay masks were also an eye opener. I used to use those masks that make all these claims and are touted to be natural/non harmful ingredients etc but didn’t really deliver and dismissed the whole idea of clay. And then, after reading your blog for a while and coming accross all the masks and bars and uses you have for clay, i thought, hey DIYed masks might actually work! And they do! So thank you for being such an open-minded and adventurous DIYer!
Thanks, Sophie! I’m so happy I’ve helped introduce you to a couple awesome things, including clay (potentially my truest of DIY loves!).
Happy Blog Birthday! Your DIYs are so inspiring! I finally got past my fear of lye and made my first batch of soap from your instructions, it was great! Thank you so much!
~Hope
(I’ve followed your bog since I was 13, and never commented. *embarrassed face* I’m 17 now.) 🙂
Thanks so much, Hope! I’m so glad I helped get you into soaping, woo 🙂 A big thank you for following, supporting, and DIYing with me—it means the world!
Happy Birthday to the best blog there is! I have a question that I don’t see answered in your FAQ… How did your blog get it’s name? Cheers!
Thanks so much, Colleen! The name came from my love of the word “bumblebee”, but not wanting to use that exact word, so I stumbled up on “humblebee”, a dated alternative to bumblebee. From there it was just a short hop to adding “and me” since the humblebee is the ingredients, and I’m the other part 🙂
So, okay… I don’t typically follow blogs (short attention span) and I definitely don’t post comments and such (’cause am I really contributing anything original and worthwhile?). HOWEVER, I stumbled upon your blog while surfing the net for things to do with essential oils and I just had to let you know how amazing and inspiring your site and your posts are. I must have spent hours each and every day for a few weeks now, alternating between your blog and online shopping. I just love the way you have taken this whole DIY world and made it accessible for a newbie like me. You deliver your know-how with clarity and humour, and I appreciate that you really seem to have done your research and just know your stuff!
So far, I have made a couple of different lip balms, salves, soaps (I MADE ACTUAL SOAP!!), facial masks, and have played around with different face oils. In a very short time period, I have already amassed a huge collection of oils / raw materials and I plan on getting more so that I can try some of your other recipes. All of this because I came across your blog and somehow yours stuck with me when dozens of other ones did not.
Thanks so much. Looking forward to more DIY-ing with Humblebee & You .
Hi Liz! I’m so thrilled I’ve nabbed your attention and your precious comment 😉 Thank you so, so much for reading and DIYing with me, it is hugely appreciated! Getting people excited about DIYing is why I do what I do 😀 Congratulations on your soaps, salves, masks, and balms—woooo!!! I feel your excitement and it’s contagious 😉 Keep on DIYing and do get in touch or leave a comment if you have any questions 🙂
