I’ll spend money on nice olive oil (pomace) (USA / Canada), underpants, black pepper, and fancy paper. But when it comes to make-up, or anything related to make-up… not so much. This summer I invested a whopping $16 in a 48-piece set of brushes from eBay. They say MAC on them, but that’s a lie. I have one tiny MAC eyeliner brush that cost me $21 when I was 15, and it looks nothing like any of these brushes (well, aside from having bristles and a handle).

So, these brushes are cheap. And they were nice at first. Soft, fluffy—all those things. And then they started shedding, which is to be expected considering they rang in at about 33¢ a piece. But then they got a bit scratchy after a wash or two. And you know what fixed that? Cheap hair conditioner. I just washed the bristles with a squirt of Aussie conditioner, and now my brushes are nice and soft and fragrant. Try it sometime!
