Strawberry Kiwi Conditioning Hair Treatment

Today’s formulation is designed to pamper your hair and your nose! It’s a decadently thick and silky Strawberry Kiwi Conditioning Hair Treatment, made with satiny kiwi seed oil and deliciously fragrant strawberry hydrosol. I’ve been enjoying applying this Strawberry Kiwi Conditioning Hair Treatment about once a week before working out or puttering around my home in my pyjamas, and then washing it out whenever I get around to showering for ultra-silky hair! I’ve discussed different ways you could use this formulation depending on what your hair loves in both the video and this blog post—I think there’s something for everyone!

Silky Soothing Facial Gel

Today’s formulation is a richly moisturizing, cold-processed, Silky Soothing Facial Gel. It was inspired by a La Roche Posay product—their B5 gel. This DIY is definitely more “inspired by” vs. attempting to duplicate their product as I don’t have all the same active ingredients, and I love what I’ve come up with! It’s brilliant for dry, irritated skin, and just the thing to add to your deep-winter skincare routine.

Winter Solstice Oil-Free Facial Moisturizer

Today is the winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere—the shortest, darkest day of the year, but also the turning point towards longer days (tomorrow will have a whole 5 seconds more daylight than today!). I’ve shared several winter solstice themed projects over the years, always right around now, and I’m excited to add another one to that collection today. This Winter Solstice Oil-Free Facial Moisturizer is a richly moisturizing fluid emulsion, featuring some of my favourite humectants and an ultralight blend of oil-free emollients. It feels incredible on the skin, vanishing within seconds and leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Nourishing Hand Rescue Lotion

This gorgeous Nourishing Hand Rescue Lotion is another “riff” project—taking inspiration from April’s much-loved Intense Hand Rescue Cream with the aim of creating something similar, but lighter and more pump-top/squeeze tube friendly. I positively adore April’s Intense Hand Rescue Cream—I’ve got nearly-empty tubs on my desk and bedside table, and I still use it every day to counter all the hand washing I’ve been doing. Knowing I’d need more soon, I opted to adapt the formulation to create a thinner version that could be packaged up in more portable packaging, and here we are!

Hyaluronic Acid B5 Facial Serum

If you’ve been reading Humblebee & Me for more than a few weeks, I’m sure you’ve heard me say that Calgary (where I live) is dry. It’s the kind of dry where bread usually goes stale rather than sprouting mould. If I visit somewhere humid and buy crackers they are probably going to go all floppy and soggy on me because I am not in the habit of carefully re-sealing bags of things that are supposed to be crispy because, well… they’d stay crispy sitting in an open bowl in my kitchen at home! While this dry-ness is very handy for things like airdrying laundry, it’s less awesome for my skin, as you can probably guess by the constant parade of moisturizing skincare formulations I share! Today’s project is another float in my dry-skin-battling parade—a richly hydrating Hyaluronic Acid B5 Serum.
