Ginger Silk Summer Lotion

I’ve been experimenting recently with lighter lotions that are suitable for pump bottles and summery weather, and I am loving the results of these experiments. My first experiment was my Lemon Chiffon Body and Hand Lotion, and I was honestly surprised by just how much I loved it. You guys loved, it, too—Thais commented “This is my favorite lotion like… ever! It sinks in beautifully, doesn’t feel sticky and the smell… omg, I can’t stop sniffing my hands and arms. About your make a 2nd batch. Thanks Marie!!!” So, consider this Ginger Silk Summer Lotion experiment 2.0. And guys… swoon. Holy goodness moly WOWZA, I am utterly smitten with this incredibly lightweight, unbelievably silky, ginger-scented lotion, and I’m so excited to share it with you! 😍

Calming Rose and Chamomile Facial Steam

After basking in the humidity of beautiful places like Southern France and New York for most of last month, my skin really misses having some moisture in the air. I know I’m a bit of an oddity, but I love humidity and heat—especially when they’re combined. I feel like I’m walking around in a steam room and it makes me oh-so-happy (I suppose we all like what we don’t have? I was surprised by things moulding in a matter of days, which doesn’t really happen here in Calgary…). Anywho, ten days back in Alberta has me back on the lotion train, craving some humidity. And with my big, beautiful rose bush in full bloom I was feeling a bit inspired.

Winter Shimmer Hair Mist

This pretty, shimmery hair mist was inspired by a recipe request from Kim. She requested a hair mist that would “repair damaged and dry hair, add a lovely fragrance, and give the hair a subtle golden shimmer.” She described a shop-bought version she’d tried, saying “it absorbed quickly into hair, had a lovely fragrance, and the shimmer was fantastic.” Colour me intrigued! I love a good hair mist, especially in the winter.

Pumpkin Pie Face Mask

I love pumpkin pie. I know lots of people mostly love it as a carrier for whipped cream, but me? I’m all about that filling. That creamy, custardy, spicy orange filling. Bring it on. I would spread it on toast if given the opportunity (though a spoon is better). So, this mask is inspired by my favourite fall dessert. Yum.
