Lavender Spruce Soap

I don’t remember when I first fell in love with the lavender/spruce scent combo, but it’s been a long standing favourite of mine for a while now. The woodsy, calming sweetness of lavender blends beautifully with the bright, fresh, camphoraceous notes of spruce and it’s just downright lovely. And, thanks to both of these essential oils being relatively inexpensive, they lend themselves quite well to soap making! This Lavender Spruce Soap is the second recipe in my lavender spruce series; it features lovely purple and green swirls in a creamy white base, and is wonderfully fun to make.

Fuller’s Earth Calming Lavender Face Mask

If your skin is hankering for a bit of pore cleansing, brightening, lavender-scented goodness, this is the mask for you. It stars Fuller’s Earth clay (also known as Multani Mitti), a clay with a long history of cleansing, brightening, and helping fade acne scars. I’ve paired it with lavender for some skin soothing goodness, and some glycerin and meadowfoam seed oil to keep things from getting too tight and dry. It mixes up into a lovely, creamy paste that’ll leave your complexion brighter and happier—let’s dive in!

Peppermint Lavender Linen Spray

I’ve been doing lots of fancier DIYs lately, so I decided to step it back with a simple DIY for freshening up linens, sheets, and rooms—just in time for spring. A simple, fresh blend of peppermint and lavender essential oils are diluted in water to create a simple spray you can use to spruce up your sheets and blankets and pillows, or maybe even the inside of your car if it’s starting to smell like feet and winter and dog. Easy peasy, peppermint squeezey.

Relaxing Essential Oil Roller

Today’s recipe is refreshingly easy to whip up, which is perfect considering it’s a Relaxing Essential Oil Roller, and it would be rather counter-intuitive to try and kick-start some relaxation with a crazy complex recipe. You can assemble this roller in no time at all (you don’t even need to leave your ingredient storage area to go to your making area if you don’t want to!) and jump straight into the relaxing. Aaaaah.

Soothing Oat Bath and Body Oil

This soothing oat bath and body oil was born from a recipe request from Claudia, who loves Aveeno’s Skin Relief Shower and Bath Oil. She said that it was fantastic for dry winter skin and even helped with her son’s eczema. Taking a look at the ingredients, first first one is mineral oil, so it’s not hard to understand why she’d prefer a more natural alternative (that and the $30 for 300mL/10fl oz price tag!). So, let’s make ourselves some Soothing Oat Bath and Body Oil!

Soothing Aloe Pit Toner

If you suffer from itchy, irritated pits whenever you use baking soda powered homemade deodorants, you are going to love this soothing aloe pit toner. It’s a lightly acidic, soothing toner that helps pH correct your armpits so the basic nature of baking soda doesn’t leave your underarms up in arms (groooooan). I got the idea from Crunchy Betty, and while I’ve been directing readers to her simple recipe for ages, I thought I could amp it up to be soothing and healing as well as balancing. And here we are!
