Lavender Spruce Shower Gel

This fun, bright shower gel emerged out of a series of experiments I did last summer when I got a bag of Sodium Coco Sulfate for the first time. I basically tried combining it with a variety of different liquid surfactants and transforming those blends into shower gels, and then tested them over a couple months to see what I liked. This one immediately caught my attention for its fantastic spreadable gel consistency and amazing bubbles, and I thought it was high time I shared it!

Soothing Cedarwood Ointment

This soft, creamy ointment features an intoxicating blend of essential oils designed to soothe skin and nerves. It was inspired by a for-purchase essential oil powered ointment I spotted on Pinterest and after perusing the ingredients I quickly figured I could whip up something equally as lovely at home from things I already had on hand! This ointment comes together quickly and easily, and looks very cute in a wee little jar 😊

Lavender Gel Facial Cleanser

This fun, softly purple Lavender Gel Facial Cleanser is another thing I’ve devised as part of my Formula Botanica coursework. It’s a wobbly, silky semi-solid facial cleansing experience that I probably find entirely too amusing 😝It’s simple to make (no heat required!), cleanses gently, and wobbles when you poke it so you may find the desire to watch Flubber crop up unexpectedly sometime in the next week or two (though this cleanser has yet to sling-shot through my home, sparking laughter and shenanigans, but hey… there’s only so much a cleanser can do!).

Sleepy Time Lavender Benzoin Lotion

This soft, sweet Sleepy Time Lavender Benzoin Lotion has become a fast favourite of mine. I look forward to smoothing it down my arms and legs before tucking into bed and drifting off with sweet vanilla-frosted lavender floating around me. I also find the oats in the lotion really help soothe my dry winter hands—between dog pets and cold prevention they sure get a lot of washing these days. So, between pre-bedtime and daytime use I’ve been carting my wee tub of lavender lotion around the house with me so it’s available for all my assorted dry skin/sleepy time needs. High praise indeed!

Lavender Spruce Soap

I don’t remember when I first fell in love with the lavender/spruce scent combo, but it’s been a long standing favourite of mine for a while now. The woodsy, calming sweetness of lavender blends beautifully with the bright, fresh, camphoraceous notes of spruce and it’s just downright lovely. And, thanks to both of these essential oils being relatively inexpensive, they lend themselves quite well to soap making! This Lavender Spruce Soap is the second recipe in my lavender spruce series; it features lovely purple and green swirls in a creamy white base, and is wonderfully fun to make.

Fuller’s Earth Calming Lavender Face Mask

If your skin is hankering for a bit of pore cleansing, brightening, lavender-scented goodness, this is the mask for you. It stars Fuller’s Earth clay (also known as Multani Mitti), a clay with a long history of cleansing, brightening, and helping fade acne scars. I’ve paired it with lavender for some skin soothing goodness, and some glycerin and meadowfoam seed oil to keep things from getting too tight and dry. It mixes up into a lovely, creamy paste that’ll leave your complexion brighter and happier—let’s dive in!
