Sleepy Time Lavender Benzoin Lotion

This soft, sweet Sleepy Time Lavender Benzoin Lotion has become a fast favourite of mine. I look forward to smoothing it down my arms and legs before tucking into bed and drifting off with sweet vanilla-frosted lavender floating around me. I also find the oats in the lotion really help soothe my dry winter hands—between dog pets and cold prevention they sure get a lot of washing these days. So, between pre-bedtime and daytime use I’ve been carting my wee tub of lavender lotion around the house with me so it’s available for all my assorted dry skin/sleepy time needs. High praise indeed!

Eucalyptus Mint Foot Cream

I can’t believe that in all the posts I’ve shared here (upwards of 1000 now!), I’ve yet to share a foot cream! There’s a much-loved foot butter and a relaxing foot soak or two, but no foot cream—until today. This Eucalyptus Mint Foot Cream is a continuation of our Eucalyptus Mint theme, and when I was thinking about lotions to pair with this scent blend my mind went straight to feet. I wanted to make something rich and lovely for a bit of pampering self-care for your tootsies.

Ginger Oak Moss Cleansing Balm Stick

I love this fragrant, creamy stick of cleansing goodness. I took the first version with my to New Zealand, where I spent much of my time on the road, camping somewhere new each night, and this stick was brilliant. I was so happy to have something I could use quickly and easily, without worrying about spilling or leaking. If you’ve got some travels on your horizon, or are simply trying to streamline your skincare routine as much as possible, I highly recommend giving this stick form cleansing balm a go!

Snowflake Shampoo Bar

I’m so excited to share this with you; it’s something I’ve been working on for almost a year! This particular recipe has been in testing and tweaking since July. I’ve had a lot of requests for a surfactant-powered shampoo bar (as opposed to a soap based one), and I wanted to make sure what I came up with worked, was thoroughly tested, and was mine, and finally—here we are! This lovely Snowflake Shampoo Bar has lovely lather, lasts for absolutely ages in the shower, and is pretty darn simple to make (it’s mostly waiting and mashing).

Vanilla Spice Vegan Lip Balm

Most of the vegan lip balms I’ve tried share the characteristic of being quite glassy and thin—they lack that rich creaminess of beeswax lip balms. With a beeswax lip balm you can really schmear it on and it’ll stay there and lock in moisture for ages (especially this recipe). Vegan lip balms made with candelilla and carnauba wax are pretty much the opposite of that, though; they tend to “slick” on quite thinly, leaving a thin, glassy coating. Now, this isn’t a straight-up bad thing (it can be great in the summer!), but in the midst of a dry winter I find glassy vegan balms are pretty much useless. That’s the problem I wanted to tackle with this Vanilla Spice Vegan Lip Balm recipe.

Snowflake Emulsified Scrub Nuggets

This snowflake theme has images of pearly white things and glitter dancing in my brain, so sugar scrub nuggets—with lovely bits of sparkly sugar—were an absolute must. These adorable little nuggets are brilliant for gifting—pop ’em in a cute cellophane bag with a nice bit of white ribbon for an adorable stocking stuffer, or perhaps as part of a larger snowflake themed gift set (heavens knows we’ll have more than enough recipes for that by December!). You’re guaranteed to make the day of anyone who needs a bit of time to chill in the bath and just needs a bit of an excuse to pamper themselves—and what’s a better excuse than some homemade Snowflake Emulsified Scrub Nuggets?!
