Almond Oat Natural Body Lotion

Today’s formulation is for a lightweight, silky, slippy, all-natural Almond Oat Natural Body Lotion! It smells softly of almonds and oats, is hydrating and moisturizing but not at all greasy, and if you make it as written you don’t need to adjust the pH (hooray!). The ingredient list is pretty short with just nine ingredients, and you can easily make it nut-free if you want to. Let’s get started!

Simple Creamy Almond Body Butter

This formulation is incredibly simple, with just three (or four) ingredients and an almond-y theme. 99.5% of this formulation is almond-derived ingredients; you don’t have to keep to the almond theme if it doesn’t appeal to you, but you might want to re-name your creation if you start switching things up! This Simple Creamy Almond Body Butter has a really lovely, rich, creamy consistency, but it doesn’t use any creamy butters like shea butter or mango butter. It’s really easy to make, and can easily serve as a base for all kinds of further experiments and customizations so you can create something uniquely yours!

Phryne’s Milk of Roses

Last year I positively devoured Kerry Greenwood’s Phryne Fisher Mystery series. Set in Melbourne in the late 1920s, the novels star the glamourous and clever Miss Phryne Fisher, who solves all kinds of mysteries in style. I first discovered Phyrne in the TV show based on the books (I streamed it on Amazon Prime a few years ago), and after a 1920’s Gatsby-themed event I was set to attend last spring was cancelled, I rekindled my relationship with the Honourable Miss Fisher in book form. That rekindling is what inspired this formulation for Phryne’s Milk of Roses 🌹
