My mother got me started on Estée Lauder make-up remover, but I quickly got tired of paying more to take make-up off than put it on. Also, it kind of stings. This quick, easy solution uses things you already have on hand and works like a dream.
All you’ll need is some gentle, non-irritating facial oil, like argan, camellia seed, sweet almond, or apricot kernel. Put a few drops on a cotton pad, and then add some water. And voila. Go ahead and de-makeup yourself. For about half a cent. Possibly less.
Tried this, love it.
I’m glad this worked for you, Patricia!
Grapeseed oil is my favorite for removing makeup. I rub it all over my face, let it sit while I use it to remove eye makeup, then clean my face with my face wash. It always leaves my face clean & soft.
Grapeseed is possibly my favourite all-purpose oil—did you know it’s slightly astringent? I thought that was kind of cool.
I haven’t tried this yet, Im still too scare to put too much oil on my face [it’s oily enough] but I am definitely interested. 🙂
You only need a few drops for this one, and it’s confined to right around your eyes, so I think you be ok 😛
Would jojoba oil work for this? I have a bottle I’ve been meaning to use up. 🙂
Yup! It will decrease the cheapness, though 😉
I use coconut oil to remove my make-up
That’ll definitely work! And help soften the skin as well—double duty 🙂
