This wonderful gadget is actually a high-powered milk frother made by Bonjour (model number 53776). I’ve tried quite a few hand-powered milk frothers and this one kicks serious butt over all of them in the power department. It has the power to thoroughly blend viscous mixtures for extended periods of time, while most milk frothers struggle with anything much thicker than milk.
I also like that this mixer has a flatter disc mixer rather than one wrapped in a metal coil—this means it doesn’t froth our formulations unless you really pump it up and down while mixing.
Be sure to get the model that takes four AA batteries, not the one that takes two! The extra batteries where that extra power comes from.
This mixer used to be sold by Lotion Crafter, but they discontinued it sometime in 2018 (I think…). Do a Google search for “Bonjour 53776” to see if you can find a convenient seller. As of late 2025, I’ve found it for sale on eBay, the American Home Depot website, and at a variety of small kitchen supply shops.
