Lol don’t mind smelling faintly of what reminds me off cookies and nutella (I know that’s hazelnut but mind still smells like it lol) but yours might have a stronger scent then mine.

Ooooh, I’m fond of Nutella. This could be bad. A serum with hazelnut, cocoa absolute, and other goodies. Nutella serum. You are evil! Lol

My oil smells almost peanut butter-y. Very strong to me, but I do have a sensitive nose. I wonder if I could use just a bit in a lotion/cream and mask the scent? Hmmm… will have to try that. It was nice on the skin.

You can get mac oil refined. I find the nutty scent kind of offensive, but you get used to it quickly. I usually pair mine with cocoa butter to mask the scent.

I love that idea, Penny. I’m discovering that unrefined hemp oil scent and I are not friends. Nope. So maybe I’ll try refined though I lose other benefits.

I think I got that idea from one of Marie’s posts actually. Hum. Need to find that post. It was a fantastic recipe.

    Here it is!

It’s a fantastic recipe, and one I keep a wicked secret and only gift small tiny tubs of it to people and then cackle that they will love it but will never get another tub of it again! I tweaked it a wee bit by adding glycerine and silk to mine. I found after about a month in the tub, it got a little weird harder like when you whip cocoa butter than it hardens on you sponge like. Still fantastic, but not what I was hoping for. In later recipes, I changed it a fair bit.

Yup. Everyone who “annoys” me got a 50g tub for Christmas. Because I know their wives or they will be too proud to ask for more but love it! What can I say? I’m a great Canadian! Share the love at Christmas and laugh that they refuse to request more!

Mean, mean, mean! But funny, Barb! Evil genius😈

Do you put the caramel in your lotion, like it says in Marie’s recipe? That sounds like it would smell heavenly, but I’m thinking “sticky caramel?”. I’m guessing it’s not sticky though.

So I just smelled Aura Cacia’s macadamia oil and it smelled way strong like peanutbutter. I don’t know why but the one I bought from the baking section has a significantly lighter smell

Check for refined or unrefined. Unrefined is more PB smelling.

Belinda, no, I didn’t/don’t add in caramel, I just use glycerine. I find the scent of the cocoa butter is more than enough!

Now I’m hungry at work and I’m losing my voice.

You all are the balm of sanity in the craziness here. Bless you lovely ladies. 😘

So, now I’m wondering what to do with my peanut-butter smelling macadamia nut oil?? Hmmm…..soap? Mixed with chocolate, I could make Reese’s PB Cup soap!

Zil, that is strange that the oil from the baking section is less fragrant! You’d think it would be the opposite. Maybe the baking one is refined, like Cyn said.

Cyn, having sinus issues? I sometimes lose my voice when I have drainage. My allergies/sinuses are going bonkers right now with all the temperature fluctuations. My throat is really hurting.

Barb, glycerin I have. Talent for making caramel candy, not so much, so that works for me! But now I want caramel candy….
