It was my day off. And I still have a few recipes I need to tick off before I’m done. I’m sitting here, my bottom half of my lips in lip paint, the top in lip stain, one eye is one colour the other another. New blushes, bronzers and brighteners cover my face. Can’t wait to see the delivery guy and the man friends expression. I want to see how they wear!
Inside the coffee grinder, Desert Green.
My own recipe! Nameless at the moment, Dessert Green, and Top Shelf Champagne.
I posted this in the other post, but I think that photo is great.January 12, 2017 at 1:15 pm #18249CristieParticipant
Nice. Great combo! I’m really liking that champagne.January 12, 2017 at 1:24 pm #18252MarieKeymaster
Fun! And I love the visual of you wandering around your house looking, well, a lot like me when I was developing these recipes! 😛 And it sounds like you are going to have enough green eyeliner to last you a decade haha 😂January 12, 2017 at 1:57 pm #18257
If I actually remember that I have it and then remember to wear it. I’ve a few more colours I want to try out- and since applying it was wicked easier than the pencil thing, I’ll be making some black eye liner. But I think I might put a green smudge in it.January 12, 2017 at 2:06 pm #18258MarieKeymaster
Are you pairing it with primer (which one)? Eyeshadow? I’m really curious about how it wears for people other than me and my testers! This recipe was such a bear to develop and test, I’m a bit anxious to find out it all that work, well, worked!January 12, 2017 at 2:35 pm #18260
I will let you know! Once I’ve got my water delivered, coffee, maybe putter in the kitchen, I’ve got a full day of massages, cupping and lessons planned for me. I’ll need to decide which one to wear (tough choice), and I’ll snap some pictures during the day and report back!January 17, 2017 at 7:11 pm #18528CynnaraParticipant
Did you end up doing black eyeliner, Penny? Or are the other colours rocking the best?January 18, 2017 at 11:28 am #18548CristieParticipant
I know why I love your colors so much, Penny! I have a plaid flannel, a favorite, that’s all the colors on your hand, except the second green swipe from the left.
How did you do that???January 18, 2017 at 3:05 pm #18562
The second swipe from the left is Marie’s exact recipe, Forest Green. It was way too bright for my tastes, so I added in a smidgen of black, stirred, tried and tried again. The first swipe is Olive.
Cyn, I haven’t gotten around to making the black yet. I got into Sleepy Hallow and my boob tube has been occupying a lot of my time as it’s the week before a three week paid holiday. So life is a wee bit lazy right now. Soon!January 19, 2017 at 8:46 am #18664Minicoopergirl93Participant
I’m not sure if I’m the only one with this problem, but I’ve been having tons of trouble with 2 things: gel eyeliner, and making anything purple opaque.
For the gel eyeliner, I kept adding more and more pigment (got up to about 10/8 tsp each) until they were finally opaque, but once I applied it and it dried, then it started cracking and flaking off as I was blinking. Anyone else have this problem?
The purple issue seems to persist for me using violet pigment or using blue/red blend. I cannot seem to make it opaque in the slightest — should I just grit my teeth and add titanium dioxide?
I finally realized I think that what I really want out of an eyeliner is mascara. Something I can get as wet or as dry as I please and apply with ridiculous precision and still get some super opacity out of it. For me, the cream eyeliner is too thick and the gel is too thin, and the mascara is (as Goldilocks would put it) juuuuust right.
You can see in the image below: the top line is mascara, and the bottom 3 are gel eyeliner. The purple is obviously not opaque.

Your picture didn’t come through!,,January 19, 2017 at 6:27 pm #18686January 22, 2017 at 2:31 am #19014
Well, I have been thinking of Cristie’s (in my head I call it Earl Grey) eye liner; a grey purpleish colour and decided to go for it before heading off to the movies. And I’m calling this one, “Earl Grey by Cristie”.
My eyeballs are on the internet! This feels weird.
I took 4g of eye liner base
1/8tsp black oxide
1/8tsp purple oxide
2/8tsp silver mica
I didn’t want to add so much mica, I didn’t want such a strong black, but it was just too black so added more mica to soften it. Note for next time: half the black.
I’m also wearing the mascara. I’m basically giving these cosmetics for the next two days while traveling. I’m traveling, if I look like crap, I can blame it on traveling. If the makeup stays put, I can blame Marie. Either way? I finally get to know how this stuff works long term for me!January 22, 2017 at 12:35 pm #19045BelindaSKParticipant
Beautiful color!! I’m going to make that! And your eyes are a beautiful color, so you shouldn’t mind them being on the Internet.
Seriously, I have dozens of pieces of paper surrounding me at my kitchen table where I’ve written down all these recipes and such that everybody’s posting. OOOO! I need to try that! Look, a great new website to check out! Awesome! New scent blend to try in lotion/soap/diffuser! New toys!! New toys!!! I feel like a kid at Christmas when I get on this forum!January 22, 2017 at 12:41 pm #19047CynnaraParticipant
I love it! Looks fabulous. I like the Grey purple look. I really do. My two favourite liners in one!
