I’m not sure why plain old potatoes get top billing. They’re pretty boring. Sure, they’re nice when deep-fried and/or smothered with cheese/gravy, but that can be said about a lot of starchy things. Now, sweet potatoes, on the other hand. They’re amazing in every way. And they can do anything a normal potato can do, only better, and I’m going to prove it to you. I’m going to start with oven-roasted fries.

These are delicious and just as easy as boring potato oven roasted fries. Three ingredients, fifteen minutes, and a plate full of deliciousness. I have been known to eat these for dinner or lunch with a side of ketchup when I’m feeling lazy, and those are always excellent meals.

Oven Roasted Sweet Potato Fries
1 smallish sweet potato (~400g)
1 tbsp canola oil
A sprinkling of seasoning saltMove a rack to the middle of your oven and preheat the broiler to 450°F. Slice the sweet potato into fry-like chunks. Make them nice, big fries though. And all about the same size so they’ll cook at the same time.
Toss the sweet potatoes with the canola oil and a semi-generous sprinkling of seasoning salt. Roast for six minutes, stir, and then roast for another six. Drain on some paper towel and devour with ketchup!
