Today we’re whipping up a simple, seven-ingredient Featherweight Leave-In Hair Conditioner that is brilliant for adding moisture and shine to hair that’s not very tolerant of oils. I’ve been using variations on this conditioner for over a year now, and I love how it softens and smooths my hair without leaving it looking stringy or dirty. I particularly love it during dry winter months (our dew point is usually well below 0°C… last week it was below -30°C!) and if I’ve been using hot tools on my hair. If you don’t have all seven ingredients you can pare down the formulation to just use four or five, too!
Today we’re creating an ultra-lightweight hair oil that’s designed for hair that’s really not very tolerant of oils (like mine). Some of my favourite-for-hair oils are blended into a silky, fast-evaporating base to create a water-free hair oil that smooths and nourishes hair while leaving it smelling fabulous!
I’m pretty stoked to share today’s project with you—it’s a Cranberry Orange Conditioner Bar that I’ve been working on for months. Satiny cranberry seed oil, ultra-conditioning BTMS-50, shine-ifying hydrolyzed silk, and beautiful sweet orange essential oil come together to create a gorgeous solid hair conditioner bar that’ll leave your hair super soft and combable, and it’ll last forever (well, maybe not forever, but many months). It makes a beautiful gift and pairs perfectly with my White Chocolate Peppermint Shampoo Bar!
This beautiful cream-coloured White Chocolate Peppermint Shampoo Bar delivers oodles of bubbles and a wonderful minty-chocolate scent in one elegant package (so to speak—shampoo bars are packaging-free!). I’ve called it a shampoo bar, but it also makes a beautiful body wash bar, helping reduce the number of products (and plastic bottles) in your shower. This is easily the simplest shampoo bar formulation I’ve shared so far, too!
Today’s project is a Bee Better for the Shine & Detangle ACV Hair Rinse I shared back in 2013. I had a lot of fun revisiting this one, taking lots of inspiration from the name rather than the original ingredients, and working in lots of what I’ve learned about hair care in the last 6 years. The new rinse is fragrant and conditioning, adding shine and slip to your hair—I really like it! It’s a fun evolution on the original concept, featuring new ingredients and resulting in a much more elegant end product.
I’ve been working on these chocolatey, clay-spiked shampoo bars since early March, and I’m super excited to finally share them with you today! They’ve got a stunning, creamy lather that leaves your hair feeling fabulous, and I’m making them with my beautiful new automatic press from the Edmonton-based The Bath Bomb Press company. You don’t need a press to make these, but I’m sure having a ton of fun with mine and love how quickly it produces super sturdy & professional-looking shampoo bars.
