ParticipantHere’s the second batch! I smeared some on my face (granted, I did already have makeup on) and no tingling, itching or burning! It’s more powder-y, since I subbed argan for jojoba and decreased the drops to 14, but it’s still nice. Much lighter feeling going on the skin. I’m going to try it out today on a clean face and see how it does.
I’m also trying out that trick of spraying rose water between the layers of powder ALA Rex Goss (I think that’s his name) to make your makeup look like skin. Anyone else tried that out yet? I think the name of Marie’s post was Hydrating Rose Water Everything Spray, or something like that.

ParticipantI use the hydrating spray as my finisher (on top of the setting powder) and I love it! You can do a little (one spritz) or a lot (multiple spritzes) to get the right amount of hydration for you. I find that with the liquid foundation I don’t need the hydrating spray as much as with the powder stuff but it smells great and gives you a “this is my real skin” finish

ParticipantOoooh. Nice! I love peppermint hydrosol for the face too. Cooling yet refreshing for that, get going, moments.

ParticipantThe peppermint hydrosol I have causes me intense burning and itching. Ask me how I know this☹️

ParticipantIs it pure with no preservatives? If it says no internal use, then it has preservatives that might also be an issue. Ask me how I know. 😂 We are so similar!

ParticipantI never looked. Got it from New Directions. I’ll have to check and see what’s on the label. The first one I bought from the Herbarie didn’t do that to me, that’s why I didn’t even question my reaction when it first started happening. I’d put it in a body butter, the one from NDA. Thought I was just having an allergy attack from something else until I finally figured it out. Another DUH moment. I seem to have a lot of those!

ParticipantCyn, we may be twins separated at birth! Haha

ParticipantWhen you do a lot of stuff, those DUH moments aren’t all that many!

ParticipantAre you sure? Some days, it’s all DUH moments for me. Now I’m like, where are the girls? They’d get a kick out of this craziness. Lol
I’m making toner with fresh witch hazel and some other lovelies this weekend. 😎

ParticipantLove my toners! Gotta have toners! The last one I made, with my new cucumber extract, is very nice.

ParticipantMy life is just one long series of DUH moments…..but some are worse than others. Beeswax in mascara! Whaaaaaa?!?!!

ParticipantCyn, about those peppermint hydrosols…
The one from the Herbarie INCI is pycnanthemum (mountain mint) water. This one I used in lotion, no problem. The one from NDA the INCI is mentha piperata. This one was the bad one. This makes no sense, because I use peppermint eo in lotions and soap with no problem. Maybe it is the preservation system. I use liquid germall plus, no problem. I use optiphen and it’s 😱😱😱 burn, baby, burn!!🔥

ParticipantCould be. If one doesn’t use any, then boom. I think NDA does have a small preservative in it. So if it’s Optiphen related, yup yup. The only other thing would be the that you might be reactive to the distillate itself, as if you were reacting to the plant. Remember there’s oil and water too.

ParticipantSo as you all know, my ability to colour match to my face is proving to be a futile effort. And add this to my very very limited knowledge of makeup and application… I think it’s confusing me.
I apply the foundation powder from the coffee grinder and it looks good, and the people who look at my face closely say it looks good, but I can still “see” the makeup. Most of my pores are happy and clean, just on the bridge and tip of my nose (I can never seem to get those cleaned out) the powder or liquid foundation looks horrible uneven and bumpy. But to those looking, they say the makeup looks good. But to me, it is not very natural looking.
Would anyone mind sharing a picture of the following; clean cheek with a swipe of foundation both liquid and powder? And one close up on your nose with liquid foundation?
The few people here I’ve asked to see this on, they like colours much lighter than their skin tone so there is a huge noticeable difference between skin and cosmetics.

ParticipantI only made the powder version. Will that help? I rarely use liquid so I haven’t bothered to make it.
