Have you checked out the LisaLise blog? She has some tips on there that might help you out with color blending/matching. It’s under the How To tab. She’s really the only other blogger I’ve found, besides Marie, that talks about making makeup. I can just imagine your frustration with this.

I’m going to have to read it too. I’m not Penny, but I might need a bit lighter of a hand for less pink. Lol

So it’s day one after creation. The cream foundation is now more of a concealer (omg it goes on so nicely!). And the slightly dark foundation is now perfect with a thin amount on me. Really all I want is just enough coverage to make me look even toned. I might want to add a touch of green maybe. But right now, I’m liking it.

So here I am. Glasses and all.

    Foundation day 2

Cyn, your link isn’t working on my end☹️ I’ve tried to take some pics of me with my makeup on, but I really hate taking selfies. I look stupid in them so I don’t want to post them and scare y’all.😱

That’s all I want too, is to even out my skin tone. I have horrible skin; large pores, oily, scars from cystic acne. I can’t control any of that so I just do my best to even out the tone and keep the oil to a minimum. But, controlling the oily shine means applying more powder, so by the end of the day I look all cake-y. Maybe using Marie’s recipe for setting powder will help. I need to make it here soon and test it out.

Cyn, I did add a drop (1/64) of green to mine, for my redder spots. It really didn’t affect the color of the powder that was visibly noticeable, so it can’t hurt to add it.

Be warned, I’m frowning at my lovely husky acting the fool. Seriously the fool with the little dogs in the back.

Hello Cyn! No frowning! Haha! We need happy smiles😀 But I get it. My dogs act crazy sometimes too. I’m sure the neighbors can hear me yelling at them to CUT IT OUT!!

Your makeup looks very nice! You have a pretty complexion. I think you got the color just right. You do have a little pink to your skin, but I don’t think it looks red. It’s very complementary, like peaches and cream. I’d say, if you wanted to, add 1/64 green to your mix. It’s not enough to make you look like a Martian or anything, but you may notice a difference that you like. That’s the lovely thing about making your own makeup. You get to make it look however you want.

Work it to work today. Not bad. Feels comfy. No itchy. So far, success. Go me! Concealer worked well.

I think mine is working out well too. The next batch I make, I think I’m going to sub the oils with something even lighter to make it oil-free. I need to make the airbrush powder and the anti shine powder (can’t remember the name). I have gone into full blown sinus/allergy infection and feel yuck, so not making anything today. I might sneeze into it!

Perfect colour matching, Cyn! Bang on 😉

Belinda—maybe consider IPM (isopropyl myristate) as the liquid/ “oil” for an oil-free powder? As an added bonus it lasts ages and feels quite lovely on the skin—quite dry and silky!

Thanks Marie! I have IPM. I didn’t think about that one. I was thinking squalane (I know, still an oil, but very light) or C12-15 alkyl benzoate. Susan on POI recommends it for oily skin, so I bought a small bottle to try.

See Marie, pale. I live in Florida and it’s what tan? Lol

I got IPM at Lotioncrafter. It’s a dangerous place to start shopping on for us crafty girls! Warning! Beware! Danger ahead!! Turn back!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!

I need BTMS50 from there too. Evil. I saw some interesting things. This could be dangerous to us. Yes it could.
