Ladies, never forget the treasures you might come across while thrift store shopping! I’ve found some AMAZING tools and molds and pots at Value Village! You never know what’s sitting on those shelves when you walk in. I’ve got some wonderful stick blenders there for next to nothing. I like to have a backup stick blender on hand because … well, can you imagine your stick blender crashing right in the middle of making a batch of soap!?? hahaha!

THANK YOU! That’s just what I needed! I actually did find some spoons with the proper measurements on them on the American site, but … a little pricey! Your info sheet saves the day. Have a super day, Belinda!

Thanks Belinda. I searched Amazon high and low and did not come up with any spoons that actually give me the proper measurements in teeny tiny increments. Grrr. You had better luck in the US site, I guess. The search continues ….

Good morning ladies. I just finished up a 9-day visit from my awesome sister from the north, who in addition to MUCH SHOPPING, assisted me with so many things, including a thorough reorganization and inventory of all my oils and ingredients on my soaping/making shelves! WOW! I now know WHAT I have (who knew??) and HOW MUCH I have! I’m basking in the glory of my long list of ingredients, just waiting to be entered onto an Excel spreadsheet. Ahhhh …. it feels so good to know I could make any number of products on a whim! You guys get that.
Question: I’m having a tough time finding the teeny tiny set of measuring spoons. Any suggestions where I could buy those in Canada? I’ve tried kitchen stores here there and everywhere, and all I can come up with are the little ones that are a “pinch” and a “smidgen”, etc. I need the 1/32, 1/64, etc. The REAL DEAL! Thanks in advance for access to your collective wisdom and experience, oh wise and experienced colleagues ….
The SUN is out today for the first time in what feels like FOREVER! WOO HOO!!! Happy Monday!

Thanks so much Cyn, for that recipe! I deal with a lot of fibromyalgia pain all the time, so any help is appreciated! And all-natural, homemade help is even better …

I am SO loving all these posts. You girls GET ME!! My new tribe. WHO else in my real world would get so excited about oils, containers and the like! lol! I have this crazy collection of little empty sample, makeup, skincare, ANYTHING … containers and jars. My people who know me even save these things for me now! Oooh, just had a great idea … I could scour the thrift store for little teeny jars of Lord knows what that they might have in bags to sell and bring them home and wash and sterilize them and add them to my growing collection. Not hoarding … *collecting*!! Much like my yarn … 35 Rubbermaid totes full of yarn isn’t hoarding, is it??? I use it! I need it! I love it! Too many crafts, too little time. Thankfully my wonderful husband just shakes his head, stops at Rona and buys me more Rubbermaid totes! lol! I have one Rubbermaid tote FULL of little bottles of EO’s and FO’s! This is where an inventory list is extremely helpful. My little DIL, who also loves all this stuff, kindly sorted through them all one day and made me a beautiful inventory list. Makes life easier, and it’s so much fun to just read through it and love my stuff! haha!

Welcome Sophie! I’m with everyone else … once you start, there is NO stopping! You’ll be dreaming up soap recipes in your sleep. It’s AWESOME! So many great things to make and do.

Zil, YES, that’s ME! I now read all labels with a plan of … “I can make that!” I loved that I read the label on the Tattoo Goo salve tin, deciphered that all those Latin words were simple things I have in my crafting supplies, and BAM, made a batch of my own! Not that I am personally tattoed, but my son, daughter-in-law, and many others are. It’s a great conversation starter at craft shows too …

I also love how we used to get sucked in by the extravagant claims on a shampoo bottle, such as “Made with a blend of white orchid and wild hibiscus!” Ooooh, how exciting! Basically, it has two fragrance oils blended together. YAWN! lol!

Belinda, you reminded me of when we lived in Vancouver BC for a while. When it snowed there it was a MAJOR deal! People cancelled their appointments, businesses closed, everyone panicked! Hilarious! I LOVE the snow! Bring it on!

Jenn and Penny — whooda thought we’d find the three of us KW’ers all here together! lol! But back to St. Jacobs … Yes to the apple fritters, and YES to the Conestogo Fries. OMG, but and lest we forget the perogies and cabbage rolls inside. MMMMMM.

Yes, I’m a huge fan of Marie and all her crazy fun ideas! EVERY time I read a new blog post I’m cringing, just knowing that there will be something ELSE I now am yearning to make but don’t have time for! AArrgh! Life’s FULL of awesome good things to do! My friends and family are always willing guinea pigs (well, except for my daughter, who would choose MAC over Mom any old day. Her loss.)

Jenn, the fact that you’re from the Sault is crazy too, because I know two people who grew up there!

Thanks, Belinda. I think I’ll give them a call tomorrow and find out more details. I’m just a little leery of handing over my credit card number and finding out the cost LATER! lol! Have a beautiful Sunday! 🙂

Thanks Belinda, for this hot tip! I checked out their website and have a cart full all ready to order. I’m a little nervous though … the “fine print” says that shipping to Canada is not free, and that the shipping won’t be quoted ahead of time. Basically, you have to agree to pay the shipping and any duty BEFORE you know how much it is. GULP! Have you ordered from them before? Are you in Canada? What’s your shipping like?

Penny, it’s a small world! China! That’s a far cry from our beloved St. Jacobs. Who DOESN’T love St. Jacobs!? One summer I found the MOST GIANT head of kale at the market there … seriously, I could hardly fit this thing in my car!! Out of that experience was born my Cucumber Kale Smoothie Bar … soap! lol! One can only juice so much kale … and I tend to have soap on the brain at all times. As in … hmmm, I don’t love this kombucha, but I’ll bet it would make great SOAP! lol!

Thanks!! I was pretty sure I looked for these on Saffire Blue’s site. I must have entered something incorrectly. I’m THRILLED that they have it … they’re right down the 401 from me … Woot Woot!! I see they also carry cera bellina, my only missing ingredient from today’s post of the Protective Pooch Paw Wax. I’m doing my happy dance!

I kind of know where that is, Penny. I have friends in New Hamburg. Where do you live now?
